Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has made streaming history by becoming the first creator on the platform to cross one million active subscribers.
The milestone happened on September 28, 2025, during Mafiathon 3, his marathon subathon that has been running since the start of the month.

On day 27 of the nonstop broadcast, a live counter ticked past the seven-digit mark, and fans got to witness Cenat’s emotional reaction in real time.
Big brands like eBay, Crocs, State Farm, T-Mobile, and Bose joined the ride by gifting subs live on stream. Even celebrities stepped in, with Snoop Dogg contributing around 46,000 gifted subs by himself.
Breaking His Own Records
Kai already held the previous Twitch record of 306,000 active subs during his 2023 subathon, breaking Ludwig Ahgren’s long-standing record of 283,066. In 2024, during Mafiathon 2, he raised the bar again, climbing past 728,000 subs.
In fact, he became the first streamer to hold each milestone from 300,000 all the way to one million subscribers. To be exact, he is the first to hit 300,000, 400,000, 500,000, 600,000, 700,000, 800,000, 900,000, and now one million subs.
It’s worth mentioning that many of these subs were gifted, which is typical for marathon-style events. Numbers will naturally fall once those 30-day gift subs expire, but the symbolic weight of hitting seven figures is undeniable.
A Subathon Packed With Star Power
Mafiathon 3 wasn’t just about numbers. It also turned into a star-studded event packed with celebrity appearances. Over the month, Cenat brought in names like Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Ray J, Marlon Wayans, Kehlani, Teyana Taylor, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, Tisha Campbell, Draymond Green, Ice Cube, Mike Epps, Latto, Ice Spice, Ne-Yo, Mario, Keke Palmer, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, LaLa Anthony, Victoria Justice, The Jonas Brothers, Big Time Rush, Linkin Park, Dave East, Veeze, Tee Grizzley, Teddy Swims, Howie Mandel, and many more.
The mix of gaming, music, comedy, and celebrity culture kept viewers hooked. At one point, Cenat even shared a message from LeBron James, who promised to shave his locs in celebration of the milestone.
