LEGO Fortnite Ninjago Update Release Date, Skins, and Gameplay Features Revealed

Epic Games has confirmed that LEGO Fortnite is entering a new era with the arrival of the Ninjago: Rise of the Ninja update, set to launch on December 11, 2025.

This crossover marks one of the biggest expansions yet for LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, bringing fresh content, iconic characters, and a new world to explore.

The timing of this update is significant. It arrives just ahead of Ninjago’s 15th anniversary in 2026 and coincides with LEGO’s second anniversary inside Fortnite this month. Epic Games is clearly aiming to celebrate both milestones with a content drop that feels larger than life.

Release Date

The LEGO Ninjago update will go live on December 11, 2025, across all platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

It will be available in multiple game modes such as Battle Royale, Zero Build, and LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. Players can expect new quests, shop rotations, and at least one patch download before the update goes live.

New Characters and Skins

Several fan-favorite ninjas are joining Fortnite’s roster. Confirmed characters include:

• Zane

• Jay

• Cole

• Kai

Kai will be part of the Ninjago LEGO Pass. All four ninjas will also receive human-like versions for use outside LEGO modes.

According to early previews, additional skins such as Lloyd, Wu, and Nya are expected to arrive later at the Item Shop.

These skins will come with themed accessories like pickaxes and LEGO-style back blings.

Gameplay Features and Weapons

The update introduces elemental abilities, allowing players to unlock powers by visiting Sanctums on the new Ninjago island. These abilities include Ice, Lightning, and Earth.

Alongside powers, traditional ninja weapons are also being added:

• Nunchucks

• Shurikens

• Kunai

• Katana

• Kama-style melee items

These additions are designed to shake up close-range encounters, blending Fortnite’s fast-paced combat with Ninjago’s martial arts flair.

New Areas and Environmental Changes

Update Notes officially confirm that Ninjago Island will feature temples, terrace farms, and themed statues inspired by the franchise’s architecture. Players may also encounter new crafting materials and survival elements unique to LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. A massive fire-breathing dragon boss was also teased in the trailer, hinting at epic battles ahead.

Looking Ahead

Epic Games has already hinted that this is just the beginning. A second major Ninjago update is planned for 2026, expected to bring more characters such as Nya, Master Wu, and Lloyd. For now, Rise of the Ninja sets the stage for one of the most ambitious LEGO Fortnite collaborations to date.
