Epic Games has confirmed that the Infinity Blade, one of Fortnite’s most infamous weapons, will return in the upcoming Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 7 update.

The new season goes live on Thursday, December 11, 2025, and will reintroduce the snowy map, festive content, and fan-favorite vehicles that defined the original Season 7.
Back in 2018, Season 7 was remembered as both exciting and divisive. While players enjoyed the winter-themed map and the introduction of planes, Epic also added the Mythic-quality Infinity Blade.
The sword was notoriously overpowered, spawning only once per match and instantly shifting the balance of gameplay. Matches often devolved into chaos as players fought to claim the weapon, leading to widespread frustration.
After heavy backlash, Epic vaulted the Infinity Blade just days after its debut, freezing it into its pedestal.
Now, Epic is thawing it out once again. The studio has not confirmed whether the Infinity Blade will return in its original state or if adjustments have been made to balance its power. For now, fans are left speculating whether the weapon will be a short-lived experiment or a permanent addition to the loot pool.
Beyond the sword, Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 7 will bring back other nostalgic features. Items such as balloons, glider redeploy, dual pistols, scoped revolvers, and stink bombs are set to return. Vehicles like the X-4 Stormwing planes will also reappear, letting players relive the aerial combat that defined the season.
Classic map locations, including Polar Peak, Happy Hamlet, and Frosty Flights are back, each tied to the holiday theme and the Ice King storyline.
Cosmetics are also part of the update, with remixed outfits like Lynx, Onesie, and Sergeant Winter making a comeback. While Epic hasn’t confirmed new skins for the Ice King, rumors suggest he may still play a role later in the season.
