LEGO is expanding its Nintendo collaboration with the reveal of a new Game Boy-themed set, featuring buildable cartridges and customizable screens. The set is now up for pre-order and will officially launch on October 1, 2025.

The LEGO Game Boy is the second Nintendo console to be recreated in brick form, following the earlier release of the LEGO NES set. However, unlike the NES, which retailed for over $200 and included thousands of pieces, this Game Boy build is more affordable and compact. It’s priced at $59.99 and comes with 421 pieces, making it a more accessible option for collectors and casual fans.

One of the standout features of this set is its two buildable game cartridgesSuper Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening—which can be swapped out and displayed alongside the handheld console.

To top it off, LEGO has added a clever detail: three different screen options. These include the classic Nintendo boot-up screen as well as in-game moments from the two featured titles.

In terms of size, the LEGO model stays true to the original console’s dimensions, measuring approximately 9 cm wide (3.5 inches) and 14 cm tall (5.5 inches).

Pre-orders are currently live on the official LEGO Shop, and each customer can purchase up to three units. While the set isn’t labeled as a LEGO exclusive, no other retailers are stocking it yet. That might change in the coming weeks, but for now, LEGO Insiders get the added bonus of earning loyalty points with their order—or using existing points to get a discount.

This new set adds to LEGO’s growing collection of Nintendo collaborations, which already includes massive builds like The Mighty Bowser, Mario Kart, and The Great Deku Tree. As per reports, fans can also expect more Nintendo-branded LEGO sets down the line, including a highly anticipated Pokémon series in 2026.
