Marvel Rivals is gearing up for even more cross-title action, with Game Director Guangguang confirming that future updates will feature collaborations with other Marvel titles.
Speaking with Insider Gaming during the Marvel Rivals Ignite Mid-Season Finals in Guangzhou, Guangguang made it clear that the team intends to keep expanding the game’s roster and cosmetics through crossovers with various Marvel properties.
The multiplayer brawler has already dipped into Marvel’s vast universe, bringing in costumes and designs inspired by comics, films, and other games. One notable example is the Spider-Man suit from Insomniac’s Spider-Man series — though currently locked to PlayStation players. With multiple new Marvel projects in development, including Insomniac’s Wolverine, EA’s Iron Man, and Arkane Lyon’s unannounced title, the opportunities for crossover content are massive.
While Guangguang didn’t confirm if the upcoming Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will be part of the lineup, his comments suggested that collaborations of this nature are firmly on the agenda. This aligns with the game’s previous willingness to step outside the Marvel bubble, as seen with its Fortnite crossover. When asked about revisiting a partnership with Epic Games, Guangguang responded with a playful “maybe,” hinting that cross-franchise deals beyond Marvel are not off the table.
The development team is also discussing partnerships with Marvel Studios, Marvel Animation, and Disney+ to potentially release new in-game content alongside major movie or series premieres. This could mean fresh costumes, themed maps, and time-limited events dropping in sync with cinematic or streaming releases — something that would keep Marvel Rivals feeling connected to the broader Marvel storytelling ecosystem.
