After a troubled launch riddled with game-breaking bugs and poor performance, MindsEye developer Build A Rocket Boy has released a roadmap of fixes aimed at stabilizing the experience across all platforms.

The open-world action title failed to live up to expectations when no early review copies were sent out ahead of launch—a move that typically raises red flags in the industry. Unfortunately, those fears were validated when players encountered massive bugs, frame drops, and glitches at launch. The backlash was so immediate that PlayStation began issuing refunds, and the devs had to cancel sponsored livestreams.

Build A Rocket Boy Responds: Apology & Roadmap

In response to the chaos, Build A Rocket Boy publicly apologized, calling the launch issues “performance challenges,” and announced a series of hotfixes rolling out through the rest of June 2025.

The first hotfix has already gone live on June 13, while Hotfix 2 and Hotfix 3 are planned for the week of June 16 and the end of June, respectively.

MindsEye Hotfix 2 (Week of June 16)

  • Ongoing performance and stability improvements

  • Fix for car wheels not visually spinning

  • Fix for falling through the world in the Car Manufacturing areas

MindsEye Hotfix 3 (End of June)

  • Continued performance & stability improvements

  • Rebalanced "Hard" difficulty mode

  • Animation fixes

  • Enhanced AI behavior

These updates are expected to roll out on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox simultaneously.

Whether these patches can truly bring the game up to the standards of its pre-launch hype remains to be seen, but the studio’s transparency and urgency are promising first steps.
