The wait is almost over—MindsEye, the highly anticipated narrative-driven action-adventure third-person shooter from former Grand Theft Auto producer Leslie Benzies, finally has a release date.
Developed by Build A Rocket Boy, the game is set to launch on June 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
To hype up the release, the studio has also dropped a new cinematic story trailer, “Welcome to Redrock”, offering a first look at the game’s futuristic setting and high-stakes narrative.
Story: Welcome to Redrock City
Set in Redrock City, a near-future desert metropolis, MindsEye throws players into a world where consumer robots handle most tasks and an all-seeing algorithm controls the city’s operations. The story centers around:
Marco Silva, a tech mogul behind Silva Industries, who has grand plans to reshape humanity’s future.
Shiva Vega, Redrock’s ambitious mayor, who wants to make the city safer—but at the cost of increasing government control.
Jacob Diaz, the protagonist, a former elite soldier haunted by his past and a mysterious neural implant called The MindsEye. His journey to uncover the truth puts him at the center of a battle between technology and human survival.
Gameplay and Features
Players can expect a mix of explosive combat, intense driving sequences, and deep storytelling as Diaz unravels the dangerous secrets hidden within Redrock.
MindsEye will also include bonus missions created using Build A Rocket Boy’s ARCADIA tool, which allows for rapid development of AAA content and promises frequent updates post-launch.
Pre-Orders and Editions
MindsEye will be available as a standalone title for $59.99/£54.99/€59.99. Players who pre-order will receive the Deluxe Edition Upgrade, which includes:
✅ Premium Pass
✅ "Deluxe" Thorn & Kepler Yellowjacket Weapon
✅ "Future" Jacob Vest Skin
✅ "Future" Silva Sedan Vehicle Skin
✅ "Future" DC2 Companion Drone Skin
✅ Retail exclusive "Stealth" Silva Sedan Vehicle Skin (physical edition only)
Ties to Everywhere & Studio Challenges
MindsEye is part of a bigger project—Everywhere, a platform revealed at Gamescom 2022 that allows user-generated content, similar to Roblox. While MindsEye is a standalone game, it will also be accessible through Everywhere.
Despite early speculation about crypto integration (which Benzies denied), MindsEye now stands as the flagship project of Build A Rocket Boy.
The studio faced layoffs in early 2024 after a $110 million funding round led by NetEase, but Assistant Game Director Adam Whiting reassured fans that the game’s vision remains unchanged.
A Must-Watch Game for 2025
With its cinematic storytelling, thrilling gameplay, and ambitious world-building, MindsEye is shaping up to be one of 2025’s biggest releases. Despite launching in June, during the E3 and Summer Game Fest window, the team isn’t worried about competition. Whiting told Eurogamer that this period allows them to meaningfully engage with players.
Now the only question is: Are you ready to dive into Redrock City?
