April 2025 brought big moves to the mobile gaming space, from massive rebounds in revenue to first-time upsets on long-standing leaderboards.
Tencent reclaimed its throne with Honor of Kings, Roblox showed signs of recovery after a puzzling drop last month, and one sleeper hit climbed a jaw-dropping 808 spots into the top charts.
Here’s the full breakdown of the top 15 most downloaded and top-grossing mobile games worldwide, based on Appmagic data.
Top Grossing Mobile Games (April 2025)
Honor of Kings (Tencent) – #1 with $181.6M (▲4). After a quieter March (around $120M), this MOBA roared back to the top, reclaiming #1 with a massive April haul. The game's April comeback was helped by its Five-Five Friends Festival, which featured a partnership with Sanrio, new gameplay modes, and an attractive Arthur character skin.
Last War: Survival (FUNFLY) – #2 with $152.5M (▼1). Still a juggernaut, though slightly off its peak. It topped the charts despite easing from its record $165M in Jan and $164M in Feb. The game likely benefited from special events like its Easter celebration, which offered players a new castle skin and valuable gameplay boosts.
Whiteout Survival (Diandian Interactive) – #3 with $136.9M (▼1). Coming off a record March (~$149M), earnings dipped back this month. Its consistent delivery of engaging events, including an Easter special and the major Snowbusters update, helped maintain its strong position by keeping the gameplay experience fresh for players.
Royal Match (Dream Games) – #4 with $129.2M (▼1). Nearly flat from March’s ~$147M. This puzzler continues its steady climb (again one of the few in the top 20 still growing), though April’s IAPs were slightly below last month’s near-record.
Candy Crush Saga (King) – #5 with $114.9M (▲2). Set a new all-time monthly high: March was “over $111M”.
PUBG Mobile (Tencent) – #6 with $114.6M (▼2). A noticeable slip from March’s ~$140M. April’s figure is still very strong, but far below its Jan‑2023 peak.
MONOPOLY GO! (Scopely) – #7 with $110.2M (▼1). Down from about $116M in March. After a rebound earlier in the year, April saw Scopely’s casino-puzzle title pull back a bit. The game brought back popular events like City Racers and introduced Adventure Club Vikings! to keep players engaged.
Honkai: Star Rail (miHoYo) – #8 with $71.7M (▲16). A huge jump – this is its strongest April since last year’s anniversary events.
Pokémon TCG Pocket (The Pokémon Company) – #9 with $70.1M (▼1). A sharp month-on-month drop from March’s ~>$100M (a one-time card-pack event).
Coin Master (Moon Active) – #10 with $61.8M (▼1). Essentially flat to slightly down. March was about $62M.
Township (Playrix) – #11 with $42.5M. A small dip from March’s $45.1M.
Gossip Harbor: Merge & Story (Microfun) – #12 with $40.0M (▲4).
Gardenscapes (Playrix) – #13 with $39.4M (▼1). Backed off from March’s $44.7M. Still quite strong (vs. mid‑2024 levels), but April showed a slight pullback after an earlier upswing.
Pokémon GO (Niantic) – #14 with $37.1M (▼4). After a March spike (breaking into the top 10 on an in-game event, April’s revenue settled down. It’s up vs. late 2024, but well off its spring peak.
Roblox (Roblox Corp) – #15 with $34.6M (▲4). Continues its bizarre plunge on iOS. AppMagic flagged “catastrophic” March iOS drops, and April remains near those low levels ($34M on mobile). That’s far below its $97M in Feb.
