Capcom has reported strong financial results for the six months ended September 30, 2026, with revenue, profit, and game sales all seeing significant year-on-year growth.
The gaming giant's lineup of flagship franchises, including Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and the newly launched PRAGMATA, played a key role in boosting earnings during the first half of fiscal year 2026.

Key Numbers:
Net sales: ¥120.8 billion ($764.2 million), up 49.0% year-on-year
Operating profit: ¥60.7 billion ($384 million), up 54.5%
Ordinary profit: ¥61.2 billion ($387.2 million), up 67.5%

The company's Digital Contents segment remained the primary growth driver. This division generated net sales of ¥85.1 billion ($538.4 million), marking a 70.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit for the segment rose 66.7% to ¥52.3 billion ($330.9 million).

Which Games Powered Capcom's Growth?
Several major releases and long-selling catalog titles contributed to the company's performance.
Resident Evil Keeps Delivering
Resident Evil remained one of Capcom's strongest franchises.
The company stated that Resident Evil Requiem "continued to grow in popularity" following its launch earlier this year. The title has now surpassed 8.5 million lifetime units sold.
Meanwhile, older RE entries continued attracting players worldwide. Resident Evil 4 sold an additional 3.54 million copies during the period, bringing its lifetime sales to 17.15 million units. Resident Evil 2 added another 2.06 million units, pushing its lifetime total to 20.38 million.
Other Resident Evil titles also remained strong sellers:
Resident Evil 7 biohazard: 18.87 million lifetime sales
Resident Evil 4: 17.15 million lifetime sales
Resident Evil Village: 16.27 million lifetime sales
Resident Evil 3: 14.93 million lifetime sales
How Successful Was PRAGMATA?
Capcom's brand-new IP has enjoyed an impressive debut.
Released on April 17, 2026, PRAGMATA sold more than 2.73 million units worldwide within its first six months on the market. The company credited strong promotional efforts and positive player reception for helping the science-fiction action-adventure title build a sizeable audience quickly.
The game was also recognized at the Japan Game Awards 2026, where it won both an Award for Excellence and the Breakthrough Award.
Onimusha Returns After More Than 20 Years
One of Capcom's biggest surprises this year has been the return of Onimusha.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword launched on September 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Despite only being available for a short time during the reporting period, the game surpassed 1.78 million units sold.
The title also won two awards at Gamescom Awards 2026, helping generate additional interest from players. As a result, cumulative sales for the entire Onimusha franchise have now reached 11 million units.
Monster Hunter Receives Another Boost
The Monster Hunter series also benefited from recent announcements.
Capcom noted that sales of older Monster Hunter titles increased after the company revealed Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, a major expansion planned for 2027. Interest was further boosted when Capcom confirmed that both Monster Hunter Wilds and its upcoming expansion will launch on Nintendo Switch 2.
Monster Hunter: World continued to sell steadily, adding 1.17 million units during the period and reaching 30.83 million lifetime sales.
Devil May Cry Continue Strong Runs
Devil May Cry 5 remains one of Capcom's most successful modern releases.
The game sold another 1.83 million copies during the reporting period, bringing its lifetime sales to 14.78 million units. Capcom attributed this growth to the Nintendo Switch 2 version, strategic pricing initiatives, and increased franchise visibility alongside Netflix's Devil May Cry animated series.
