Star Wars characters and locations are coming to the Monopoly Go in a limited-time collaboration that runs from May 1 to July 2, 2025.
First announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan, this collaboration, led by Scopely in partnership with Disney, integrates iconic Star Wars content from the Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian into the popular mobile game.
Key Features of the Crossover
Narrative and Theme:
The event revolves around Peg-E, Monopoly GO!’s robot mascot, who, after watching Star Wars at Mr. Monopoly’s private theater, dreams of reimagining the Monopoly GO! universe within the Star Wars galaxy. This sets the stage for a cosmic adventure blending the playful Monopoly aesthetic with Star Wars’ epic storytelling.
The crossover emphasizes themes of good vs. evil, Jedi vs. Sith, and iconic Star Wars battles.
Iconic Characters:
Players can interact with beloved Star Wars characters, including:
Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2-D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, Qui-Gon Jinn, Chewbacca, and Grogu (Baby Yoda) from The Mandalorian.
These characters are featured in various in-game activities and collectibles, bringing their unique flair to the Monopoly GO! board.
Star Wars GO! Sticker Album:
A limited-time 22-sticker album with a comic book-style narrative allows players to collect stickers featuring Star Wars characters and moments. Completing sticker sets unlocks exclusive rewards.
On May 4, 2025 (Star Wars Day), players receive an exclusive token as a special gift.
Themed Events and Minigames:
The crossover reimagines Monopoly GO!’s core events with a Star Wars twist, including:
Pod and Rebel Racers: Players race iconic Star Wars vehicles through locations like the Mos Espa Grand Arena (Tatooine) and Hoth in a multiplayer event called Tycoon Racers. For example, the Pod Racers event runs from May 1 to May 5, 2025.
Star Wars, Jedi, and Hyperspace Partners Events: Collaborate with friends to build Star Wars-themed statues of characters and starships for rewards.
Tatooine, Jawa, and Tusken Treasures: Dig-themed events on Tatooine where players uncover Star Wars-inspired relics. The Tatooine Treasures event runs from May 7 to May 11, 2025.
Locations like Tatooine, Mos Espa Grand Arena, and the Death Star serve as backdrops for these activities.
Exclusive Cosmetics:
Players can collect Star Wars-themed tokens, shields, emojis, and dice to personalize their gameplay.
Gameplay Enhancements:
The event introduces new challenges, puzzles, and “storied battles” that pit Jedi against Sith.
"At Scopely, our goal is to deliver exceptional gameplay experiences and transformative partnerships that keep our global communities engaged and delighted for years on end," said Eric Wood, SVP of Publishing at Scopely.
Throughout the event, players can collect themed tokens, emojis, dice, and shields by completing challenges and sticker albums. These items add Star Wars style to the Monopoly Go experience.
This collaboration follows Scopely's big news from March when they announced plans to purchase Niantic Inc., the company that makes Pokémon Go, for $3.5 billion.
The Monopoly Go and Star Wars crossover event runs from today until July 2, giving players plenty of time to enjoy all the special content and galactic adventures it offers.
