Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is officially getting a physical release on December 12, 2025, and yes, it will include the classic Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

The collection is heading to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC—though notably skipping PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Digital Eclipse and Atari are handling the package, with Limited Run Games behind the physical editions.

While December 12 is locked for the physical launch, the digital release might arrive sooner. A listing briefly spotted on the Xbox Store pointed to a September 30, 2025, launch, but it has since been taken down. So far, no official confirmation on that date.

Originally released in 1996, Mortal Kombat Trilogy was a fan-favorite update of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, bringing back characters and stages from the first two games. Its return is one of the biggest draws of this new Kollection, especially for long-time fans who grew up with the classic arcade fighters. Check out other games it added and features [here].

On the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, the physical editions will come with a full game card—not just a download code. That’s a welcome detail for collectors and players tired of partial installs on cartridges.

The physical editions come in three flavors:

  • Standard Edition ($49.99–$59.99 depending on platform): Includes the base game and a Day One bonus slipcover for pre-orders.

  • Deluxe Edition ($69.99–$79.99): Adds a SteelBook case, lenticular card, magnet, mini marquees, arcade flyers, and a poster.

  • Kollector’s Edition ($149.99): Available via Atari and Limited Run Games, this premium set includes a Goro controller holder, commemorative arcade token, hardcover art and lore book, a Scorpion/Sub-Zero pin set, and a numbered collector’s box.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Deluxe Edition includes a collector's box, steelbook, arcade flyers, magnet, cards, and mini-marquees.

Pre-orders are now live at Atari.com and Limited Run Games, and will be open until August 31, 2025, for the Kollector’s Edition. Meanwhile, the Standard and Deluxe editions will hit shelves and ship out starting December 12. The Kollector’s Edition shipping window will be revealed later.
