Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has initiated a formal probe into Roblox over alleged child safety failures.

What’s Happening in Oklahoma

Drummond’s office has issued a request for proposals from private law firms to investigate Roblox and possibly file suit.

The heart of the allegations, according to the RFP, Roblox "lacks adequate safety measures" and is "overrun with harmful content and child predators."

The document specifically names problematic game titles hosted on the platform, such as Escape to Epstein Island, Diddy Vibe, and Public Bathroom Simulator Vibe.

Drummond stated, "When a platform that markets itself to children becomes a hunting ground for sexual predators, we will take action."

He emphasized that no company should profit while Oklahoma children are put at risk. Legal proposals in Oklahoma are due by October 3, 2025, after which the AG’s office will pick the firm or firms based on a mix of cost and competence.

Related Legal Actions in Other States

Oklahoma is not the only jurisdiction pressing Roblox on child safety.

  • Louisiana: In August, Attorney General Liz Murrill filed a lawsuit accusing Roblox of exposing minors to sexual exploitation and failing to safeguard them from predators and harmful content. The lawsuit also claims Roblox facilitated explicit games, allowed predators to pose as minors (including via voice‐altering software), and inadequately warned parents about risks.

  • Florida: In April, Attorney General James Uthmeier launched an investigation into Roblox’s child safety practices, including how the platform handles mature content, communications involving young users, and its reporting to agencies concerned with child exploitation.

Roblox contests many of the allegations, saying it already has "rigorous safeguards" such as restrictions on sharing personal information, limits on user‐to‐user image sharing, and content moderation. However, critics argue that those measures have not been sufficient.
