PS Plus Game Catalog for July 2026 Adds Rise of the Ronin, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and More

Sony has confirmed the full PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup for July 2026, bringing seven new titles for Extra and Premium members alongside two classic games exclusive to Premium subscribers.

No day-one releases are included, but several notable games are making their PS Plus debut this month.

Availability is staggered across regions, with all titles accessible globally by July 28 at the latest.

Key Highlights

Rise of the Ronin is arguably the biggest draw this month. Developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo, this open-world action RPG launched on PS5 in March 2024 before arriving on PC in 2025. Set in 19th-century Japan during the turbulent Bakumatsu period, players take on the role of a nameless ronin navigating political upheaval, foreign influence, and open warfare. The combat system, built around parrying, weapon stances, and a mix of traditional blades and early firearms, is where the game genuinely shines. It holds a Metacritic score of 76, with consistent praise for its setting and combat depth. Some criticism was directed at its open-world structure feeling routine in places, but for fans of action RPGs it remains a compelling experience.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, launched in June 2024 and is set in a region of Pandora that has never appeared in the films. Players take on the role of a Na'vi who was captured and raised by the RDA, the militaristic human corporation central to the Avatar story, before breaking free and reconnecting with their heritage. The gameplay is first-person with a later third-person option and emphasises exploration, Ikran riding, bow and rifle combat, and crafting. It sits around a 72 on Metacritic, with most praise going toward its world design and visual fidelity. Criticism has generally pointed at a familiar Ubisoft open-world structure, though post-launch updates and DLC have improved the overall reception.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is the standout indie of the month and one of the most critically acclaimed titles in the catalog. Developed by Jump Over the Age and published by Fellow Traveller, it launched in January 2025 as the follow-up to the well-regarded original. Players control a Sleeper, a digitised human mind housed in a synthetic body, who commandeers a ship and builds a crew while navigating life on the fringes of a corporation-controlled galaxy. The game uses a tabletop-inspired dice system where each action consumes a rolled die, creating constant tension around resource management and decision-making. It has earned scores in the high 80s from critics and is widely regarded as one of the best narrative RPGs in recent memory.

Dying Light, developed by Techland and published by Warner Bros. Interactive, may be over a decade old at this point but it remains one of the most enjoyable zombie survival games ever made. Set in the fictional city of Harran, the game blends fluid parkour traversal with brutal melee combat and a genuine day-night cycle that meaningfully changes how dangerous the world feels after dark. Co-op support adds another layer of fun to the experience.

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, developed by weltenbauer and published by astragon Entertainment, launched in September 2025 and brings a detailed, simulation-focused take on the firefighting genre. Players respond to emergencies across a Midwestern US city, manage crew dynamics, operate licensed fire trucks, and tackle dynamic fire mechanics powered by Unreal Engine 5. It supports up to four-player co-op and has earned a strong reputation among simulation fans, sitting in the high 80s on Steam.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, developed and published by Digital Eclipse, is a retro-style beat-em-up that launched in December 2024. The game follows the original Power Rangers battling a robotic version of their longtime villain Rita Repulsa across stages that pay heavy tribute to the classic 90s TV series. It supports up to five players in co-op and includes Megazord shooting sections alongside the core brawling.

Snow Bros. Wonderland, developed by Tatsujin and published by Clear River Games, is a 3D revival of the beloved arcade series that launched in November 2024. Players hurl ice pellets to freeze enemies into snowballs before kicking them into chain reactions across isometric stages. It supports up to four-player co-op and brings the classic mechanics into a colourful modern package. It holds around a 70 on Metacritic, with most praise aimed at its charm, replayability, and co-op appeal.

On the Premium side, two PS2-era classics round out July's additions. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, originally released in 2004 by Midway Games, is a third-person action shooter where players wield psychic abilities including telekinesis, pyrokinesis, and mind control. It was highly regarded at the time of its release and has since earned cult classic status for its creative use of powers in both combat and puzzle scenarios.

Indigo Prophecy, the debut interactive drama from Quantic Dream, the studio later known for Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, is a paranormal thriller set in New York City, centred on a series of mysterious murders. Originally released in 2005 under the title Fahrenheit in several regions, it is an influential piece of narrative game design that helped shape the genre as it exists today.

Overall, it’s a solid month for subscribers. Earlier, Essential, along with Extra and Premium, received three free titles in the July lineup: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Cross-Gen Bundle (PS5, PS4), For the King II (PS5, PS4), and CrossCode (PS5, PS4). All three will be available to add to your library from July 7 to August 3, after which a new batch will arrive as usual.
