Sony has announced the three free games coming to PlayStation Plus in May 2026.

Leading the pack is EA Sports FC 26, the latest entry in EA's football simulation series that took over from the FIFA branding. The game launched worldwide back in September 2025 and has since become one of the more talked-about sports titles of that year. According to reviews, the on-pitch gameplay has seen genuine improvements. Dribbling feels tighter, passing is crisper, AI positioning is smarter, and goalkeeper animations have been overhauled. That said, the live-service elements and microtransactions in Ultimate Team remain a sticking point for many players. For those who enjoy the series and primarily play offline or casual modes, though, this is a solid pickup.

As a bonus, PS Plus members can also redeem an exclusive EA Sports FC 26 PlayStation Plus Icons Pack while the game is available through the collection.

Next up is Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a Soulslike action RPG from Chinese developer Leenzee Games that released in July 2025. The game is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by late Ming-dynasty China and features fast-paced, combo-heavy combat with a deep skill tree for customization. It is competent and visually striking, but not particularly groundbreaking for veterans of the genre. Still, it sold over a million copies and holds its own as a solid entry for fans looking for something new to sink their teeth into. Recently, the game's full ownership was transferred to Digital Bros as Leenzee Games shut down shortly after the game's launch.

The third game, Nine Sols, is arguably the most critically acclaimed of the bunch. Developed by Taiwanese studio Red Candle Games, the title originally launched on PC in mid-2024 before coming to consoles in November of that year. It is a 2D hand-drawn Metroidvania with combat deeply inspired by Sekiro, built around timing-based deflections and parries rather than pure offense. As per reviews, Nine Sols sits in the high 80s to low 90s on Metacritic and carries a 96% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Many critics have placed it in the same conversation as Hollow Knight in terms of quality.

Members who have not yet claimed April's free game: Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream should do so before Monday, May 4, before they leave the library for good.
