Passive Skill Specialization System

The headline addition of this update is the Passive Skill Specialization System. For the first time, players get to choose a tactical role before boarding the plane. Each role comes with unique perks that stay active throughout the match:

  • Healing: Faster revive speeds and HP recovery for you and teammates after a rescue.

  • Perception: While prone, emit a signal to detect enemies and vehicles through walls.

  • Combat: Gain a movement speed burst immediately after knocking or eliminating an enemy.

  • Detection: Temporarily marks enemies on the HUD and map after you deal damage to them.

  • Vehicle: Reduces fuel consumption and damage taken, and unlocks high-speed Nitro boosts.

Team compositions could now be built around roles rather than just weapon loadouts.

New Weapon: M1 Garand

  • A brand-new marksman rifle

  • Known for its iconic "ping" sound when the clip empties.

  • Delivers powerful mid-to-long-range performance.

Temporal Vault Mode

  • A high-risk, high-reward limited mode.

  • Players unlock vaults ranging from C-tier to S-tier.

  • Higher tiers offer rare in-game equipment and permanent rewards.

Erangel Map Rework

Several iconic locations have been redesigned to fit the anniversary theme:

  • Mylta (The Racetrack): Transformed into a functional Grand Prix circuit where players can compete in mini-races for in-match rewards and high-tier loot.

  • Mansion (The Restaurant): Redesigned as a supernatural restaurant layout where players can activate a "Kamehameha" button to generate a temporary protective shield.

  • Pochinki (Music District): Turned into a Livehouse with a DJ booth, where footstep sounds are dampened during high-decibel phases, allowing for silent rushes.

  • Hospital (Aerodynamic Sports): Fall damage is disabled here entirely, and a Human Cannon launches players toward targets for airdrop-tier loot.

New Gear and Vehicles

As per the reports, three new pieces of equipment are also making their way into the game:

  • Armored Flare Gun: Summons a modified BRDM equipped with a .50 caliber machine gun, with passengers now able to fire back while moving.

  • Energy Shield: A deployable hemispherical barrier that blocks all bullets and throwables for 15 seconds, though it blocks outgoing fire as well.

  • Floating Thruster: Adds a rechargeable Nitro boost to any vehicle you drive.

8th Anniversary Rewards

The celebrations do not stop at gameplay. A solid lineup of rewards is coming with the update:

  • Anniversary Crate: Features exclusive "Evolving Universe" themed skins.

  • Vouchers: New lootable vouchers usable in special spin draws and roulette events.

  • Login Rewards: Daily bonuses including UC, coupons, and themed emotes.

  • Event Missions: Complete anniversary challenges to earn milestone rewards like the 8th Anniversary Pan and Level 3 Helmet skins.

  • The PUBG MOBILE × Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration returns on March 13th.

PUBG Mobile's 8th Anniversary celebration officially kicks off on March 20, 2026, giving players about a week to settle into the new update before the festivities begin in full.

Before downloading, make sure your device has at least 4GB of free storage. The update package itself is around 1.2GB.

For Indian fans, the BGMI 4.3 update is rumored to drop on March 16, 2026, though Krafton India hasn’t officially confirmed the exact date yet.
