Ubisoft has officially teased a new crossover event between Rainbow Six Siege and Borderlands, with more details scheduled to be unveiled on July 15, 2025.
The announcement was made via the official Rainbow Six Siege X (formerly Twitter) account, confirming earlier rumors about a collaboration with Gearbox’s looter-shooter franchise.
The brief teaser trailer didn’t give away much, but it did show off a striking Borderlands-themed skin featuring the iconic Male Psycho Bandit — the chaotic face of the series. The skin carries Borderlands’ signature cel-shaded art style, along with a new weapon skin and a potential MVP animation involving a flicked lighter, staying true to the game’s comic book-inspired visuals.
This partnership marks the first crossover since the launch of Siege X, a major update that introduced enhanced visuals, audio upgrades, and round-based bans. The addition of Borderlands content continues Ubisoft’s trend of tapping into popular franchises to keep Siege fresh and appealing to a wider fanbase.
Speculation about this collab first sparked during the R6 RE:LO:AD tournament in Brazil earlier this year, when eagle-eyed fans noticed a Borderlands-style mask worn by player Lee “GoodBoy” Ji-heon during a match. Following that, Game Post reported leaks showing alleged in-game skins — including Mozzie donning the Psycho Bandit outfit and IQ sporting a Lilith-inspired look, with matching themed weapons for both Operators.

However, Ubisoft hasn’t officially confirmed the authenticity of those leaks yet.
It’s worth noting that Rainbow Six Siege has previously hosted franchise-based collaborations, such as Sledge’s Master Chief skin from Halo and Ash’s Lara Croft elite skin from Tomb Raider. So, this upcoming event fits right into the game's expanding crossover catalog.
Still, not everyone is thrilled. Some players on social media voiced frustration over Ubisoft focusing on skins while long-standing issues like cheaters and matchmaking remain unsolved. One fan commented, “I can’t even play ranked and you want me to be happy about a Borderlands collab?” Others echoed similar sentiments, asking for game improvements before cosmetic additions.
Regardless of the mixed reactions, the full reveal is just around the corner. Fans can expect the complete details, and possibly gameplay showcases, when the event is officially unveiled on July 15, 2025.
