Rob Wiethoff, known for voicing John Marston in the Red Dead Redemption series, recently sparked excitement across the community with a cryptic tease about "exciting news." His comments, echoed by Roger Clark (Arthur Morgan), had many fans speculating that Rockstar might finally be preparing a current-gen update for Red Dead Redemption 2—possibly that long-requested 60 FPS patch.

However, as it turns out, the news isn’t about a game update at all.

The actual announcement is a full cast reunion at the upcoming National Gaming Expo, scheduled to take place in Tampa, Florida, from August 8 to 10. According to a promotional image circulating on Reddit, key voice actors from both Red Dead Redemption and its sequel will attend the event for a major meet-and-greet session. It’s undoubtedly exciting for fans who want to meet the cast in person, but for those holding out hope for a technical refresh or new content, it feels more like a bait-and-switch.

Wiethoff’s original tease came during a stream, where he shared, "I got such exciting news. I can’t share it with you right now. It’s absolutely killing me." Naturally, this built up anticipation. But following the reveal, Wiethoff clarified his position, saying he doesn’t “make announcements for Rockstar Games” and admitted he “misled some people,” as reported by PushSquare.

The timing of the promo’s release and Wiethoff’s comments strongly suggest this cast appearance is what he had been alluding to all along. Clark, too, is listed among the attendees, solidifying the theory.
