Vtuber Riley, who goes by rileycs_ on Twitch, has gone from being accused of hacking to becoming one of the fastest-rising names in the Battlefield 6 streaming scene.
Before the controversy, she was relatively unknown, with a peak viewership of just 290. But once clips of her sharp aim went viral — sparking claims of aimbotting — her numbers skyrocketed. During the beta, her streams reached 1,539 peak viewers, putting her in the top 1% of Battlefield 6 streamers.
According to data from Streams Charts, her follower count has surged dramatically. She went from around 1,679 followers on August 7 to more than 14,000 by August 14. That’s a staggering sevenfold increase in just two weeks. For a streamer who was averaging only 34 viewers a few weeks back, this is nothing short of a breakthrough.
Speaking of cheating allegations, plenty of high-level players across games like CS2 and Call of Duty have stepped up to defend her. They’ve explained that her gameplay likely came from strong map knowledge and solid mechanics, not hacks. Some even pointed out that her “suspicious” aim shifts lined up with enemy markers on the minimap — hardly the telltale signs of an aimbot.
Although Twitch did suspend her briefly during the uproar, she was unbanned in time for the second beta weekend. Rather than shy away, she leaned into the spotlight. Adding a handcam to her streams, she’s now openly showing her gameplay mechanics to silence the doubters and win over new fans.
Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 has been busy banning hundreds of thousands of actual cheaters through its anti-cheat system. Given the heavy scrutiny on rileycs_, the chances of her slipping through undetected are slim.
So, was she cheating? At this point, the evidence — and the community — lean heavily toward no. What’s clear is that rileycs_ has turned a messy controversy into a major opportunity.
