What Is Road to Vostok?

Set in a grim, post-apocalyptic border zone between Finland and Russia, Road to Vostok is best described as a single-player cross between STALKER, Escape from Tarkov, and DayZ. But unlike those titles, there is no multiplayer, no PvP, and no online griefing to worry about. It is a pure, solo survival experience built around tension, planning, and making every bullet count.

The game draws heavy inspiration from the real border region between Finland and Russia. As the developer himself put it, "Nothing says home like a huge, sparsely populated zone marked by extreme winters and trees as far as the eye can see." Developer Antti then built on that foundation by adding a crisis element, pulling in bandits, hostile military units, and mutated threats to make the world feel alive and dangerous.

Here is what players can expect at Early Access launch:

  • Scavenging for food, water, weapons, and gear

  • Hunger, thirst, fatigue, injury, and radiation management

  • Base and shelter building with deep customization

  • Ballistic simulation and realistic combat

  • Dynamic events and multiple maps

  • Traders and looting systems

  • A high-stakes permadeath zone called Vostok

Vostok zone is a special area designed for high-risk raids. Dying there to a marauder or soldier means the end of the line for your character. Your shelter, your equipment, even your little darling cat, all gone in the blink of an eye.

Pricing and Platforms

Road to Vostok will be available on PC via Steam. Native Linux support is planned for a few months after launch. Console versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are being considered, but only after the game reaches its full 1.0 release.

On pricing, the Early Access launch price is set at $14.99 / €14.99. This comes with a 25% launch discount active for the first two weeks. After that window closes, the price moves up to the full $19.99 / €19.99.

There are no separate deluxe or supporter editions. One purchase covers all future Early Access updates.
