Roblox and Attorney General Alliance Unite to Set New Standards for Child Safety Online

For a platform that has long been at the center of conversations about online safety, this move feels like a significant step.

The initiative, called the Partnership for Youth Online Safety. It’s designed to bring together state Attorneys General, tech companies, law enforcement, nonprofit organizations, academics, and families to create practical safeguards for children online. For Roblox, being the first industry partner means it will have a direct seat at the table with policymakers, helping to co‑design standards that could influence the entire gaming industry.

Roblox CEO David Baszucki emphasized that the company is already investing heavily in moderation tools, AI‑driven content scanning, and chat filters. But this partnership, he explained, allows Roblox to go further to "co-design and deploy the next generation of protective tools and frameworks" and to "help set new safety standards across the digital ecosystem used by kids and teens,"

The initiative has several clear objectives:

  • Set industry-wide safety standards for product design.

  • Detect and deter exploitation, grooming, and harassment online.

  • Develop frameworks for lawful, rapid data sharing between companies and law enforcement.

  • Educate parents with tools and resources to protect children.

  • Build long-term partnerships between government, industry, and advocacy groups.

The AGA, which works with Attorneys General across the U.S. and internationally, has long focused on consumer protection and public safety. With this new partnership, it’s clear that online child safety is becoming one of its top priorities.
