The Silent Hill 2 remake has officially crossed 2.5 million units shipped and sold digitally worldwide, according to publisher Konami and developer Bloober Team.
Alongside this milestone, Konami also revealed that the Silent Hill franchise as a whole has now surpassed 10 million units shipped across its long history.

The announcement came through a recent Konami News video report focused on Silent Hill f, where the updated sales figures were mentioned early on.
Released on October 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, the remake shipped one million copies in just three days. That figure doubled by January 23, 2025, and has now climbed past 2.5 million.
At its core, the remake retells the haunting story of James Sunderland, who travels to the fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill after receiving a mysterious letter from his deceased wife, Mary. The narrative continues to explore heavy themes of grief, guilt, and psychological torment, all wrapped in the unsettling atmosphere that made the original a classic.
When Bloober Team was first announced as the studio behind the project, some fans were skeptical. Could the Polish developer, best known for Layers of Fear and The Medium, handle such a beloved property? As it turns out, the answer has been a resounding yes. The remake has earned widespread praise, holding a Metacritic score of 86 and maintaining a 95% positive rating on Steam from more than 47,000 reviews. That success has given Bloober Team the green light to move forward with even more ambitious plans.
In June 2025, Konami confirmed during its Press Start showcase that Bloober Team is now also working on a remake of the original 1999 Silent Hill, and it entered into "full production" earlier this month.
On the player side, Silent Hill 2 saw a peak of 23,676 concurrent players on Steam during its launch window, according to SteamDB. While numbers have since settled to around 1,000 concurrent players, that’s typical for single-player horror titles, which often see their biggest spikes at release.
Meanwhile, the franchise’s newest entry, Silent Hill f, has already made waves of its own. Konami confirmed that the game sold over one million copies in under 24 hours following its launch on September 26, 2025. That performance has outpaced the Silent Hill 2 remake across multiple regions, including Japan, making it the fastest-selling entry in the series’ history.
