Stardew Valley Creator Has a Secret Voice Role in Hollow Knight: Silksong — But No One Knows Who He Plays

The creator of Stardew Valley, Eric Barone — better known to fans as ConcernedApe — has a hidden role in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

As spotted by The Verge, Barone’s name appears in the game’s credits under the “Additional Voices” section, which can be found in the “Extras” menu.

This means the mind behind one of the most beloved farming sims of all time has lent his voice to at least one of the insect inhabitants of Pharloom. The big question is: which one?

Right now, no one outside of Team Cherry and Barone’s inner circle seems to know. The credits don’t reveal the character’s name, and everyone involved is keeping quiet.

Cole Medeiros, head of operations at ConcernedApe, confirmed to The Verge that it is indeed the Eric Barone, but added that the developer would “rather not say which character(s) so as not to spoil any surprises for anyone.”

Unless Barone or Team Cherry decide to reveal the role, fans may have to rely on sharp ears and community sleuthing to figure it out. Given the game’s massive launch — which saw it crash storefronts and rack up glowing reviews within hours — it’s safe to say plenty of players will be listening closely.
