The PC demo for Stellar Blade is pulling in some impressive numbers on Steam, setting the stage nicely for the full launch on June 11.
According to SteamDB, the demo hit over 26,000 concurrent players on its debut day, May 31.
The response has been overwhelmingly positive so far, with more than 2,000 user reviews giving it a strong 92% approval rating on Steam.
Players are especially impressed by how well the game runs and how great it looks. Some are even calling it "probably the best optimized PC game in 2025," with others saying it runs "like butter" even with everything cranked up to max settings.
There’s also a lot of praise for how polished the game feels—especially considering this is the studio’s first major leap beyond mobile gaming. One player summed it up perfectly: “I was surprised last year by how a company that was making games for phones managed to accomplish such a polished console game.”
The demo’s momentum builds on the game’s strong run on PlayStation 5 throughout 2024. Stellar Blade follows Eve, a synthetic warrior battling alien creatures called Naytiba, blending stylish, methodical sword combat with exploration.
The PC version adds some nice extras, too—like unlocked frame rates, ultrawide support, 4K texture packs, and compatibility with both NVIDIA DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3. The Complete Edition also includes over two dozen new character outfits and a crossover DLC with Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
And if you’re already hooked, there’s more on the horizon. According to Shift Up’s latest financial report, a sequel is already in development, possibly landing before 2027.
