Theorycraft Games has officially announced that its squad-based hero battle royale game, SUPERVIVE, will exit early access and launch globally with version 1.0 on July 24, 2025.
Along with the announcement, a new trailer was published on YouTube, revealing the addition of a new playable character named Wukong, while also laying out pre-launch reward details for long-time players.
The game, which began life under the name Project Loki, has been in development since 2020 and available in early access since November 2024. It merges elements of MOBAs, hero shooters, and battle royale formats into a single, fast-paced competitive experience. With the 1.0 update, SUPERVIVE aims to make a big splash on the global stage, after steadily building hype through community playtests, developer updates, and its Creator Cup esports event.
Rewards for Early Adopters
Players who joined during the early access phase are in for some exclusive perks. Those who log in before the 1.0 release will receive a ‘Cartoon Carrot Wisp’ (Rooty) cosmetic and a special champion callsign.
For players who’ve spent over 40 hours in the game, additional rewards include ‘The OG’ glider and the ‘Theorycrafter’ title.
There’s also a scheduled server downtime following the YouTube showcase on July 17 at 9:00 PM PT, intended for final maintenance before launch. Players with active battle passes will be granted 200,000 experience points as compensation.
What Is SUPERVIVE?
At its core, SUPERVIVE is a free-to-play, top-down squad battler where 40 players drop into a massive sky-based map as teams of four. The objective is to level up, collect powerful gear, and outlast rival squads while avoiding environmental dangers like storms. It features over 22 unique characters, known as Hunters (the newest one is Wukong), with distinct classes such as Fighter, Controller, Frontliner, Initiator, and Protector.
Gameplay revolves around fluid movement—gliding, jumping, and dashing are just as critical as team coordination and tactical ability usage. SUPERVIVE leans more into strategic positioning and smart decision-making rather than twitch-based aiming, making it a refreshing alternative to traditional shooters.
Game Modes, Features, and Depth
SUPERVIVE supports various game modes:
Squads: The primary 4-player team mode
Duos: Adjusted 2-player variant
Arena: 4v4 deathmatch mode
Practice Mode: Test out builds against AI
Custom Lobbies: Set up private matches with flexible rules
Mechanics like revives, squad-wide resurrection via “Most Wanted” objectives, and mid-match transformation powers (yes, you can become a tree) give the game an experimental edge. A dynamic storm, shifting biomes, and rotating map objectives keep each match feeling fresh.
As for monetization, Theorycraft Games has been clear that SUPERVIVE is not pay-to-win. All Hunters can be unlocked through gameplay, and cosmetics are optional. A premium battle pass is planned, but only for those who want extra flair.
SUPERVIVE’s Esports Roots and Future
Despite being in early access, SUPERVIVE already dipped its toes into competitive waters with the Creator Cup in late 2024. According to Esports Charts, the event peaked at 84,000 viewers, with over 480,000 total hours watched. While no formal esports league has been announced since, the potential is certainly there, especially with the launch just weeks away.
