SUPERVIVE, the hybrid MOBA-battle royale-hero shooter from Theorycraft Games, will officially shut down its live service on February 26, 2026.

The announcement came directly from Executive Producer Jess, who shared a heartfelt message with players about the decision to sunset the game. SUPERVIVE, which once peaked at nearly 48,000 concurrent players and drew over a million downloads, struggled to retain its audience beyond the initial launch period. Despite patches, new modes, and community support, the numbers dwindled to unsustainable levels for the small team behind it.

Jess explained: “This wasn’t an easy decision for us to make – we know SUPERVIVE has a core community who really loves what it has to offer – and our team loves working on it too. It has been an enormous privilege to develop SUPERVIVE with you, from initial combat prototypes to monthly Project Loki playtests, launch, and beyond.”

Released in July 2025, the game’s unique blend of MOBA mechanics, hero shooter elements, and battle royale chaos initially drew praise for its ambitious combat system and verticality. However, as Jess admitted, “As time has gone on, it’s become clear that our changes haven’t been effective enough, and bringing in new players has only gotten harder. Although we’ve seen a huge number of people download and try SUPERVIVE, most of them move on after their initial time with the game.”

"SUPERVIVE is an ambitious and expensive game to support - so as player counts have dropped, we’re faced with the difficult reality that maintaining the game is not sustainable for us."

Patch 2.04 will serve as the final update, introducing the “Prisma Party” mode and gifting players a bundle of completed skins for free. Players can request a refund for any items bought in the last three months.

Looking ahead, Theorycraft Games intends to regroup and focus on a new project. Jess hinted at a different direction: “We’re confident our next game is going to look pretty different from SUPERVIVE. Our goal is to forge a new direction for Theorycraft – one aimed at delivering high-quality, sharply focused games that live more squarely in the space between indie and AAA.

Jess closed with gratitude: “It’s bittersweet – we’re sad we couldn’t go any further with you, but we’re also just so grateful for all of your support throughout the years. We would have never made it this far without you. Thank you SUPERVIVERs. Until we meet again.”
