The Tekken 8 Nations Cup will bring together top professional players from around the world in Abu Dhabi from April 18-20, 2025. This major fighting game tournament will take place during the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC).
Unlike traditional fighting game tournaments that use a one-on-one format, the Tekken 8 Nations Cup features teams of three players representing their countries.
The tournament structure includes a round-robin phase where all teams play against each other. After this phase, the top two teams will advance to face off in an exciting Grand Final match.
Some of the world's best Tekken players, Arslan Ash and Bae 'Knee' Jae-Min, will participate in the tournament. Pakistan, led by Arslan Ash, won the last Nations Cup held in Seoul, South Korea, last month.
According to Marcos Muller-Habig, Director of Abu Dhabi Gaming, this event represents exactly what Abu Dhabi Gaming aims to achieve. "Bringing the biggest esports names from across the globe to compete alongside regional stars is exactly what Abu Dhabi Gaming is about," he stated in a press release.
Besides the tournament, visitors can participate in various activities throughout the weekend. As reported by organizers, these include Marvel Rivals fan tournaments and retro arcade games, all designed to strengthen the fighting game community spirit.
The tournament commentary will be provided by well-known Tekken community content creators, including Steven 'Tasty Steve' Scott and Hassan 'Spag' Farooq.
For those unable to attend in person, recordings of the Tekken 8 Nations Cup will likely be available on the MEFCC's YouTube channel after the event concludes.
