The Game Awards 2025: Every Confirmed and Rumored Game Announcement

Updated: Dec 9, 2025

The Game Awards 2025 will officially take place on December 11, once again hosted by Geoff Keighley at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. While the ceremony itself celebrates the best games of the year, the event has also become a global stage for major announcements, trailers, and world premieres. This year looks no different, with several confirmed reveals and a long list of rumored surprises already fueling hype across the industry.

The Game Awards 2025 airs on December 11 with major confirmed reveals including Exodus, Phantom Blade Zero, Resident Evil Requiem, and a new Total War game, alongside high-credibility rumors for Death Stranding 2 PC, Control 2, Silent Hill Remake, and more.

Confirmed Announcements and Trailers

Exodus

One of the most anticipated reveals is Exodus, the sci-fi RPG from Archetype Entertainment. First introduced at The Game Awards 2023 with actor Matthew McConaughey attached, the game has been described as a spiritual successor to Mass Effect.

Archetype, founded by former BioWare veterans Chad Robertson and James Ohlen, is joined by Lead Writer Drew Karpyshyn, known for his work on Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

According to the studio’s official blog, Exodus will be showcased with new details, and fans are hoping for a release date announcement.

Neon Giant’s “Ludicrously Ambitious” Project

Swedish developer Neon Giant, best known for The Ascent, has teased a new project set to be revealed on December 11. Described as “ludicrously ambitious,” the game will focus heavily on "player agency" and creativity in a reactive world.

In an interview with PC Gamer, the studio explained that this is “the kind of game every developer wants to work on.” Given the success of The Ascent, expectations are high for what Neon Giant has planned next.

Phantom Blade Zero

Another confirmed showcase is Phantom Blade Zero. A new trailer will debut at the event, and according to The Game Awards’ official channels, it will include a release date reveal.

First shown in 2023, the game impressed audiences with its Kung-fu-inspired combat and souls-like mechanics. The protagonist, an assassin seeking revenge, has already captured attention, and fans are eager to see how the story unfolds.

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom will also take the stage with Resident Evil Requiem. Geoff Keighley confirmed via X that the game will receive a “terrifying new look” during the show. Originally revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025, Requiem is set to release in a few months, making this showcase a prime opportunity for Capcom to reveal new characters and locations.

Rumors have swirled for months about Leon Kennedy’s possible return, with leakers like Dusk Golem insisting he is part of the game. Whether or not Leon appears, the trailer is expected to be one of the night’s highlights.

New Total War Game

Creative Assembly has announced that a brand-new Total War game will premiere at The Game Awards. The studio described it as one of its “most ambitious” projects yet, marking a revolutionary new chapter for the franchise.

A trailer and first gameplay glimpse will debut on December 11, with more details promised on December 16. This reveal also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Total War series, making it a milestone moment for fans.

Next Tomb Raider Game

Crystal Dynamics has officially confirmed that the next chapter of Tomb Raider will be unveiled during The Game Awards 2025. The announcement was shared by Geoff Keighley on X, teasing that the show will feature “the future of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises.

First revealed in December 2022 by Amazon Publishing, the game has so far only showcased classic-outfit concept art — no gameplay or release date yet — but Amazon told Interview last year that development is still moving along despite turbulence at the developer, which has already had three rounds of layoffs this year.

A silhouette teaser shown in past celebrations suggested a possible return to Lara’s more classic design, though there has been no confirmation on whether the new game continues the reboot trilogy or goes in an entirely new narrative direction.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

TT Games has confirmed that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will appear at The Game Awards 2025, offering fans a fresh look at the highly anticipated title. First announced at Gamescom 2025, the game is slated for release in 2026.

Unlike past LEGO titles with massive character rosters, this entry focuses more tightly on Batman himself, combining an open-world Gotham City with Arkham-style combat set in the studio’s signature blocky aesthetic. While TT Games has maintained relative silence since the initial reveal, the upcoming showcase is expected to provide new gameplay footage—and possibly a clearer release window.

High-Credibility Rumored Announcements

Beyond the confirmed titles, several strong rumors suggest additional surprises:

  • Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (PC Port) – The PC version was recently rated by the ESRB, and Hideo Kojima has reportedly been spotted in Los Angeles ahead of the show. Many expect a release date announcement.

  • Control: Resonant (Control 2) – A trademark filing for Control: Resonant has fueled speculation that Remedy Entertainment will reveal the sequel at TGA 2025.

  • Silent Hill 1 Remake – Japanese insiders claim Bloober Team’s remake is ready for a first-look trailer.

  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake – Insider sources such as Tom Henderson have consistently pointed to a potential remake reveal for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Although some reports suggest a January announcement window, the project remains one of the most strongly rumored candidates for a TGA appearance.

  • Capcom’s Pragmata & Onimusha – With Capcom already confirmed RE, insiders believe updates on Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword could also be part of the show.

Low-Credibility Rumors and Fan Buzz

The Game Awards has a history of unexpected reveals, so even the less credible rumors are worth mentioning. These include:

  • Kingdom Hearts 4

  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3

  • Jurassic Park: Survival

  • Clockwork Revolution

  • FromSoftware’s co-op project The Duskbloods

  • Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 5

One of the more unusual rumors involves a mysterious “glowing demon statue” shared by Keighley on X. Some fans speculate it could be tied to a new God of War, Elder Scrolls, Diablo 4 expansion, or even a new DOOM. And of course, the perennial hopefuls are still predicting Half-Life 3, though there’s no evidence to support it.

Whether it’s a long-awaited sequel, a bold new IP, or a nostalgic remake, December 11 is set to be one of the biggest nights in gaming this year.
