Tundra Esports Claims BLAST Slam 3 Title with Victory Over Team Falcons

Tundra Esports has won their second consecutive BLAST Slam championship, defeating Team Falcons 3-1 in the grand finals of BLAST Slam III on Monday, May 12.


This victory adds to Tundra's impressive run of three tournament wins so far in 2025.


The Western European Dota 2 powerhouse secured the grand prize of US$300,000 from the tournament's US$1 million prize pool, plus an additional US$100,000 in team earnings.


Team Falcons, who dominated the Dota 2 scene last year, had to settle for second place, taking home US$150,000 plus US$50,000 in team earnings.


Both teams showed their strength early in the tournament by finishing at the top of their respective groups during the Group Stage. Falcons topped Group A while Tundra led Group B, with both teams achieving 3-1 records.


According to BLAST Slam's unique playoff format, this strong performance earned both teams direct advancement to the semifinals.


The path to the finals saw Falcons sweep Team Spirit while Tundra defeated Gaimin Gladiators, setting up what promised to be an exciting championship match between the two group leaders.

Tundra started the grand finals with incredible momentum, dominating the opening game with a 31-12 kill advantage in just 27 minutes. Remco "Crystallis" Arets showed why his Razor is feared, scoring 12 kills and nine assists with only two deaths. His teammate Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov contributed perfectly with 11 kills and eight assists on Beastmaster.


The second game proved more challenging for Tundra. Falcons put up strong resistance for 52 minutes before finally conceding. Once again, Crystallis on Razor led the charge with an impressive 22 kills and 14 assists, while bzm on Monkey King added 15 kills and 18 assists.


With their tournament hopes hanging by a thread, Falcons found new life in game three. They completely overwhelmed Tundra in a 38-minute victory, building a commanding 45-10 kill advantage. Oliver "Skiter" Lepko's Ursa was nearly unstoppable with 18 kills and 11 assists on just one death, while Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak supported excellently on Nature's Prophet.


The fourth and final game turned into an intense back-and-forth battle lasting 55 minutes. Tundra's superior teamfight execution ultimately made the difference, with bzm delivering a masterclass performance on his signature Invoker hero, recording 15 kills and 11 assists. Crystallis complemented this with 11 kills and 12 assists on Phantom Assassin.


This victory marks Tundra's third tournament win of 2025, following their previous triumph in BLAST Slam II back in February.


Looking ahead, Tundra will aim for a remarkable third consecutive BLAST Slam title when BLAST Slam IV takes place in November. This tournament will make history as the first BLAST Slam event to feature a live audience, scheduled to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from November 7-9.


The Slam series marks BLAST's entry into the Dota 2 esports, and despite no live audience, it has garnered significant appreciation from online viewers. The first Blast Slam nearly reached 200,000 peak viewers during its grand final, the second event approached 280,000, and now, Blast Slam III has achieved 293,702 peak viewers, according to Esports Charts. As of now, BLAST Slam III ranks as the 6th most popular Dota 2 event of 2025 based on peak viewership.


Overall, BLAST Slam III accumulated over 6.77 million hours watched and maintained an average of 149,500 concurrent viewers.
