Ubisoft is reportedly gearing up for one of its busiest release periods in years, with as many as nine major games potentially launching between 2026 and 2027.
According to a report from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, the French publisher’s pipeline includes a mix of mainline sequels to its biggest franchises, long-awaited remakes, and a few experimental projects.
The list of in-development titles is stacked. On the blockbuster side, there’s Project Ovr, the next mainline Ghost Recon game, and Project Hexe, the next big Assassin’s Creed entry.
Fans of stealth classics will be watching Project North, a full remake of Splinter Cell, while shooter enthusiasts can look forward to Project Blackbird, the next mainline Far Cry.
Ubisoft is also experimenting within that franchise, with Project Maverick, described as an extraction-based Far Cry shooter — though Henderson notes this one might not survive to release.
Two more titles — Project Obsidian, a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Project Invictus, an Assassin’s Creed multiplayer game — were originally slated for 2025, but their timelines are now uncertain.
Here’s the reported 2026–2027 slate in brief:
Project Ovr – Mainline Ghost Recon
Project Hexe – Mainline Assassin’s Creed
Project North – Splinter Cell Remake
Project Blackbird – Mainline Far Cry
Project Maverick – Far Cry extraction shooter
Project Rewind – Prince of Persia Remake
Project Alterra – Life sim in the style of Animal Crossing
Project Crest – WWII extraction shooter
Project BG&E2 – Beyond Good and Evil 2
Ubisoft recently secured a $1.2 billion investment from Tencent, creating a new subsidiary to house its most valuable IPs — including Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, and Far Cry. Tencent now holds a 25% stake in that group, giving Ubisoft fresh funding to push these projects forward.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan have also confirmed they’re working on the “future of Rayman.” Insider Gaming suggests this could be a remake launching in 2026, with the possibility of a full Rayman 4 if it performs well.
Beyond 2027, Ubisoft’s roadmap reportedly stretches even further, with projects like The Division 3, a new The Crew, and more Assassin’s Creed experiences — plus smaller spin-offs, including a turn-based Rainbow Six game.
If even half of these titles make it to release, the next few years could see Ubisoft flooding the market with some of its most ambitious projects in over a decade.
