The tournament kicks off on March 27, with an in-game qualifier, right after the conclusion of BGIS 2026.
A Tournament With History
This is not a new event. The India Rising Series has been running since 2022, and it has built a decent reputation within the Indian BGMI scene over the years.
The 2022 edition kicked things off in a big way. It drew 4,000 registered teams and narrowed the field down through multiple rounds before settling on 18 teams for the Grand Finals. Team XO came out on top with 184 kills and 423 points across 42 matches. Their player Punk was named MVP after a standout final day. Notably, fan favorites Team Soul and Team XSpark were both knocked out before the Grand Finals, which made the result even more surprising.
The 2024 edition was slightly different in structure. 32 teams participated, with 26 receiving direct invites and six earning their spots through open qualifiers. Team Soul, competing as iQOO Soul, won that edition with 171 points across 18 matches. Orangutan Gaming's Akop took the MVP award with 43 total eliminations across the event.
What's Different This Time
A couple of things stand out about the 2026 edition when placed next to its predecessors. The prize pool has dropped from Rs. 15 Lakh, which was the figure in both 2022 and 2024, to Rs. 10 Lakh this time around.
What does stand out positively is the involvement of KRAFTON India Esports as the powered-by partner. Previous editions had third-party title sponsors like Wings Lifestyle in 2022 and AMD in 2024. Having the game's own publisher directly attached to the tournament adds a layer of official credibility. Teams competing here will know the event follows standard KRAFTON-sanctioned rules and settings.
