The Boys: Trigger Warning brings the hit Prime Video series into VR for the first time. Launching in 2026 on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2, the game features a new story, returning cast members, and chaotic stealth-action gameplay inspired by the show’s dark humor.

For fans who have followed The Boys since its comic debut or its Prime Video adaptation in 2019, this announcement is a major milestone. While Homelander did make a cameo as a playable fighter in Mortal Kombat 1, the series has never had a dedicated game of its own—until now.

Developed by Brazilian studio ARVORE, known for its Emmy-winning VR projects, and published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality, Trigger Warning promises a brand-new storyline set within the show’s timeline.

The game introduces players to Lucas, a former loyal Vought employee whose life takes a dark turn after a disastrous trip to Voughtland. According to the official description, a group of D-list Supes “ruined everything,” pushing Lucas to join The Boys in their fight against Vought. Armed with Compound V, Lucas temporarily gains powers ranging from camouflage to hand blades, and even laser eyes reminiscent of Homelander. This mix of stealth and chaotic combat is designed to capture the franchise’s trademark blend of dark humor and brutal action.

Players won’t be alone in their mission. Familiar faces like Butcher and Kimiko will appear throughout the campaign, while Laz Alonso and Jensen Ackles are confirmed to reprise their roles as Mother’s Milk and Soldier Boy.

Other cast members, including Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett and P.J. Byrne as Adam Bourke, are also returning. As per reports by Variety, Ackles’ Soldier Boy appears with a “twisted interpretation” created exclusively for the game.

ARVORE’s CEO Ricardo Justus emphasized that the studio worked closely with showrunner Eric Kripke and his team to ensure the game captured the essence of The Boys. “We lean into everything fans expect from The Boys,” Justus explained, noting that VR amplifies the absurdity and physicality of the show’s violence.

Creative Director Ricardo Laganaro added that Kripke’s involvement went beyond approvals. "They helped shape characters and scenes with us, and even wrote dialogue, which made the story genuinely feel like it belonged within ‘The Boys’ universe."

Priced at $23.99 USD, The Boys: Trigger Warning is already available for pre-order on the Meta Quest storefront and can be wishlisted on the PlayStation Store. While the exact release date is yet to be confirmed, developers are targeting a 2026 launch, which could coincide with or follow the show’s upcoming fifth and final season.
