Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is preparing for a big year ahead, with Saber Interactive outlining a wave of fresh content as the game approaches its first anniversary this September.

Originally released in September 2024, Space Marine 2 has enjoyed impressive success, surpassing over seven million copies sold worldwide. With its first year of post-launch support nearing its end, Saber Interactive has confirmed that players can expect a second year of updates — including both free content and paid DLC — to roll out beginning later this year.

As per a recent community update from the developers, a major update dubbed “10.0” is scheduled for September 2025. This will mark the official start of the game’s Year 2 roadmap. While the upcoming 9.0 patch will focus mainly on balancing adjustments and won’t introduce new content, the 10.0 update is where things start to ramp up again.

Here’s what’s coming in 10.0:

  • New PvP Mode: Originally planned for the 9.0 update, the new competitive mode will now debut in September. It features Chaos vs. Chaos battles on a brand-new map and introduces the Helbrute as a playable character.

  • Power Axe Weapon: A fresh addition to the arsenal, the Power Axe will bring unique attack animations and a new execution style to both PvE and PvP combat.

  • Techmarine Class: This new class will join the ranks in both modes, expanding tactical gameplay options for players across all factions.

Saber Interactive has also teased that additional PvE missions, enemies, and gear will be part of the Year 2 content drop, though specific details are still under wraps. According to the update, players should look out for more community posts in July and August for further previews.

While exact release dates for patches 9.0 and 10.0 haven't been confirmed, previous updates have typically launched toward the end of each month — a trend that’s likely to continue unless otherwise stated.
