Wildgate is set to receive its biggest update yet as Dreamhaven and Moonshot Games prepare to launch the massive “Emergence” update today, on November 19, 2025.

According to the official announcement, Emergence brings two major game modes, a new playable Prospector, a fast new ship, fresh weapons and equipment, a new region of the Reach, and long-requested community features like Custom Lobbies.
The first new mode, Treasure Hunt, is designed specifically for players who want a more relaxed “learn-as-you-play” style experience. Instead of immediately being thrown into chaotic PvP encounters, you can fly through the Reach, loot wreckage, complete dynamic quests, and extract at your own pace. It’s a smart onboarding step, something the community has been asking for since launch. You’ll still face danger from AI-controlled ships and environmental hazards, but you control how risky the run gets. And unlike Artifact Brawl, Treasure Hunt doesn’t force you into conflict unless you want it.
If Treasure Hunt is the calm, Fleet Battle is pure chaos. This 3v3 combat-focused mode drops players into constant, respawning ship-on-ship action where points are earned through battles, Artifact captures, and blowing opponents into scrap. As per Moonshot, the team intentionally held back on introducing a mode like this at launch because they wanted players to first understand Wildgate’s more experimental side. But with the community demanding a more straightforward combat option, Fleet Battle finally gives players a way to jump straight into the action without worrying about extraction.
Emergence also introduces the game’s newest Prospector: Charlie, a psionic Auran who immediately stands out thanks to her unique support-focused abilities. Charlie can instantly revive downed teammates, teleport to allies within 150 meters, and in a wild twist, heal from hazards like fire, radiation, shock fields, and cosmic storms. Think of her as a hybrid between a space mage and a battlefield medic.
To support all these new content pieces, Wildgate is also introducing the Outlaw, a new one-to-two-player ship built for fast escapes and quick surgical strikes. It’s smaller, speed-focused, and resistant to boarding, making it ideal for Treasure Hunt runs.
Custom Lobbies are also finally arriving, letting you host private Wildgate matches with custom settings.
The Reach itself is expanding with the arrival of the Dead Worlds, a scarred and perilous new zone filled with vampiric energy siphons, crimson towers, and alien anomalies. A new point-of-interest (POI), the Euphonic Spheres, also joins the game, hinting at a deeper mystery behind the Reach’s ancient precursor civilizations.
And of course, what’s a massive update without new gear? Emergence adds the Resonator, a hybrid beam-and-grenade launcher weapon, along with a new Medic Drone that functions like a floating pocket-medic for your crew.
Moonshot is also pairing this update with a Steam Free Weekend, Xbox Free Play Days, and PS5 Free Trial, starting November 20. It’s the widest open door Wildgate has offered yet, and players can try the game, including all new content, with no limitations during the free weekend and limited progression caps during the ongoing trials.
Free Weekend on Steam and Xbox from Nov 20–24.
PS5 Free Trial begins Nov 20 with limited progression.
Ongoing free trial on PC and Xbox begins Nov 24.
Steam and PlayStation will run up to 50% discount periods during the event.
All progress made during Free Weekend or Trial carries over if you buy the game.
Double XP for non-trial players from Nov 26–Dec 1.
Whether you’re a returning player hoping the game finally finds its footing or someone completely new who wants to crew a spaceship with friends, Emergence feels like Wildgate’s genuine second chance.
Wildgate: Emergence launches on November 19, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and will be free. A day later, the game will be free for everyone on Steam for this weekend.
The timing hasn’t been announced yet, but keep an eye out between 9 AM and 12 PM PT (1 PM to 3 PM ET).
