WWE 2K26 Unveils Monday Night War Edition With Iconic Legends

WWE has officially confirmed that WWE 2K26 will feature a special Monday Night War Edition, revealed during the WWE PLE, Saturday Night’s Main Event, on January 24.

Billed as the most expansive version of the game, its cover art pays homage to the legendary rivalry between WWF and WCW from 1995 to 2001.

The teaser poster showcases a split design, with the top half representing the WWF’s Attitude Era and the bottom half featuring the WCW/nWo side.

WWF side:

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin

  • The Rock

  • Triple H

  • The Undertaker

  • Kurt Angle

  • Chyna

WCW side:

  • Hulk Hogan (nWo)

  • Scott Hall

  • Kevin Nash

  • Goldberg

  • Booker T

  • Eric Bischoff

Pre-orders are set to begin on January 30.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only special edition lined up. Just a day earlier, on Friday Night SmackDown, WWE unveiled the Attitude Era Edition. Its key art highlights legends from the 1990s and early 2000s, making it another nostalgia-driven release.

Earlier reports suggest that CM Punk will headline this year’s 2K Showcase mode. According to reports, players will get the chance to relive Punk’s most iconic career highlights and even step into dream matches that never happened after his 2014 departure.

Match variety is another major highlight of WWE 2K26. Four gimmick matches tied to the Attitude Era are confirmed, including three returning classics and one brand-new addition:

  • Inferno Match: First introduced in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009, where the goal is to throw your opponent into flames.

  • I Quit Match: A brutal contest requiring one competitor to force the other to say “I Quit” into a microphone.

  • 3 Stages of Hell: A best two-out-of-three format with different stipulations for each fall.

  • Dumpster Match: The fresh addition, where victory comes by locking your opponent inside a dumpster.

Beyond the ring, the Island mode is making a comeback with a new storyline. This year’s narrative revolves around a power struggle among three factions on the Island of Relevancy, following Roman Reigns’ departure as Tribal Chief.

Insider Gaming reported that one of these factions will be called the Order of Anarchy. While WWE 2K25 limited the Island mode to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, fans are still waiting to hear if PC players will get access this time.

As per reports, WWE 2K26 is expected to launch in March 2026, keeping in line with the release window of past titles. The game will be available across all current-gen consoles and PC via Steam.

Pricing for the Monday Night War Edition is anticipated to be around $129.99, similar to last year’s WWE 2K25 Bloodline Edition.
