Key Highlights
Little Rocket Lab is a cozy pixel-art factory-building game from Teenage Astronauts, published by No More Robots. You play as engineer Morgan, who returns home to finish building a family rocket while also helping revive the local town. It blends resource gathering, machine optimization, and light storytelling into a relaxed loop. The game launched in late 2025 to very positive Steam reviews, sitting at 90% approval, with critics praising it as a charming and rewarding automation experience.
Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato is a short narrative adventure from Brazilian indie studio StudioBando. You step into the shoes of young Miho, who dives into a magical world inside his grandmother's pantry to recover a stolen potato for her soup. The game draws inspiration from films like Coco and Spirited Away, and offers colorful 3D visuals with simple puzzle gameplay. It runs about four hours and has earned a 95% positive rating on Steam, making it a great pick for families.
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors is the newest release on this list, having launched just this week. Developed by Poncle alongside Nosebleed Interactive, this is a roguelite deckbuilder that takes Vampire Survivors' signature survival chaos and reshapes it into turn-based card combat. The Turboturn system lets players chain massive combos against waves of enemies. It has launched to overwhelming praise on Steam with a 98% positive rating. Some critics have noted it can feel repetitive once you master the core loop, but the addictive combo-building is hard to put down.
Kiln is the next game from Double Fine Productions, the studio behind Psychonauts. It is a 4v4 online multiplayer party brawler where you sculpt ceramic pots on a pottery wheel, and those creations become your character in battle. The shape, size, and decorations of your pot affect your abilities, which is a genuinely fun concept. It hits Game Pass as a day-one release on April 23.
Aphelion is the first space-set human story from Don't Nod, the studio known for narrative-driven games like Lost Records and the Banishers series. You play as astronaut Ariane Montclair, crash-landed on a newly discovered alien ice planet called Persephone, trying to survive and reach her injured partner. The game blends platforming, stealth, and survival mechanics with a strong narrative focus. It is described as offering tension similar to Alien: Isolation, and arrives on April 28 as a day-one Game Pass title.
Trepang2 is a fast-paced first-person shooter from Trepang Studios, published by Team17. Released on PC back in 2023 and ported to consoles in 2024, it follows super-soldier Subject 106 on a revenge mission against a corrupt corporation. Slow-motion bullet time, intelligent AI, and brutal action are the highlights. Critics gave it scores around 74 to 80 out of 100, with IGN awarding it an 8/10 and calling it a solid tribute to classics like F.E.A.R.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era arrives in Early Access on April 30. Developed by Unfrozen and published under a collaboration with Hooded Horse and Ubisoft, it is a return to the classic turn-based strategy formula that made Heroes III legendary. You explore fog-of-war maps, build armies, capture cities, and fight in hex-grid battles. The series creator Jon Van Caneghem served as a creative advisor, which should give longtime fans some confidence.
Sledding Game is a cozy multiplayer snowsports hangout from The Sledding Corporation, arriving in Early Access. There are no real objectives here. You sled down hills, crash into friends, sit by bonfires, and enjoy proximity voice chat with other players. It is pure chill vibes and chaos, and honestly that sounds like a great time.
TerraTech Legion is a vehicular bullet-heaven roguelite from Payload Studios. You build modular battle vehicles block by block, then throw them into waves of rogue AI bots across various biomes. Combining sandbox building with survivor-style action is a clever idea, and it launches on April 30 as a day-one Game Pass addition.
Final Fantasy V arrives on May 5, bringing the beloved classic JRPG to Game Pass subscribers. Originally released in 1992, Final Fantasy V is best known for its deep and flexible Job System, which lets party members mix and match abilities from over 20 different classes. The Pixel Remaster version, released across modern platforms in 2021 to 2023, is considered the definitive way to play, with updated visuals and quality-of-life improvements.
Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass on April 30
These titles will be removed from the service at the end of the month, so play them while you still can:
Citizen Sleeper (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Creatures of Ava (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Endless Legend 2 (PC)

Hunt: Showdown 1896 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
NHL 24 via EA Play (Cloud and Console)

The biggest departure from this list is Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The game has been a fan favorite for years, and with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 officially confirmed and targeting a 2027 release, this is actually a great time to go back and experience the second game if you have not already. It features a create-your-own Time Patroller story, deep RPG-style character customization, and fun arena combat set across iconic Dragon Ball moments. If you want to burn through a weekend on it before it leaves, you have until Thursday, April 30 to do so.
