Major Highlights
If you are a survival game enthusiast, DayZ on PC is the one to watch. It is brutal, unforgiving, and deeply immersive.
For fans of the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak is a three-player co-op, throwing players into the paranormal chaos of the Federal Bureau of Control headquarters.
Hades II is the crown jewel of the month. Supergiant Games delivered what many critics called their best work yet, with the full 1.0 release in 2025 earning near-universal acclaim. It is a roguelike action RPG rooted in Greek mythology, following Melinoë through ever-changing underworld and surface realms. The combat is fast, layered, and deeply satisfying. Reviews consistently placed it among the best games of 2025, often scoring 9s and 10s across the board.
The Thaumaturge is a character-driven RPG with turn-based combat. The game leans heavily into morally complex choices and uses folklore-inspired demons as part of its combat system.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which shadow-dropped in April last year to widespread praise, now joins Game Pass Premium on April 16. The remaster brought the 2006 classic into the modern era with stunning visuals built on updated rendering technology, while keeping the soul of the original intact.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the 2019 Infinity Ward reboot, joins on April 17. It is worth a mention because it genuinely was one of the better entries in the franchise in years. The campaign was praised for its grounded storytelling, and the multiplayer suite offered a strong variety of modes. It also set the stage for Warzone, which went on to become a cultural phenomenon.
The Day-One Launches
Three games are hitting Game Pass on day one this month.
Replaced arrives on April 14. It is a cinematic 2.5D action-platformer set in an alternate 1980s America with a dark cyberpunk atmosphere. Pre-release previews have been very positive, highlighting the gorgeous pixel art, fluid combat, and a synthwave soundtrack that sets the mood perfectly.
Vampire Crawlers follows on April 21. Developed by poncle, the team behind Vampire Survivors, this one takes the Survivors formula in a completely different direction. It is a deck-building roguelite dungeon crawler played from a first-person perspective. You build card-based decks and unleash chaotic combos in familiar dungeons.
Then there is Kiln, dropping day one on April 23 from Double Fine Productions. It is a 4v4 online multiplayer brawler. You sculpt ceramic armor on a pottery wheel, and those creations become the bodies you fight with in arena matches.
Games Leaving Game Pass in April 2026
According to Xbox Wire, the following titles are leaving Game Pass on April 15:
Ashen (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Grand Theft Auto V (Cloud, Console, and PC)
My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Terra Invicta Game Preview (PC)
GTA 5 leaving is the notable one here. The game joined around the same time last year (part of the wave 2 April 2025), so it stayed for around a year on Game Pass. With GTA 6 arriving on November 19 this year, it was a major chance for subscribers to revisit the game.
Microsoft does offer up to 20% off purchases for games leaving the service, so you can keep them in your library even after they exit Game Pass.
