Key Highlights
DreamWorks Gabby's Dollhouse: Ready to Party
Developed by Infinigon S.L. and published by Outright Games, Ready to Party is squarely aimed at younger audiences and families.
The game features simple 3D platforming, a variety of minigames, outfit unlocks, and local two-player co-op that lets a parent or sibling join in.
It originally launched in September 2025 as a tie-in to both the popular Netflix animated series and the theatrical Gabby's Dollhouse film.
South of Midnight
Developed by Compulsion Games and published by Xbox Game Studios, South of Midnight is a third-person action adventure that draws heavily from Deep South American folklore and magical realism.
The story follows Hazel, a young woman who awakens ancestral weaving powers after a devastating personal loss and sets out through haunted bayous and mythical landscapes to confront supernatural spirits called Haints.
The weaving mechanic sits at the core of the gameplay, allowing players to manipulate threads for attacks, environmental puzzles, and traversal.
The game originally launched in April 2025 and earned Metacritic scores in the mid-80s. At The Game Awards 2025, it won Games for Impact and also took home an Annie Award for Best Character Animation in a Video Game.
The game is also coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 later this month, reaching an even wider audience.
The Alters
The Alters is developed and published by 11 bit studios, the team behind This War of Mine and Frostpunk.
Players control Jan Dolski, a lone survivor stranded on a hostile alien planet that is being bombarded by lethal radiation. To survive, Jan uses a quantum substance to create alternate versions of himself, each shaped by different life choices, with their own personalities, skills, and emotional baggage.
The survival loop involves resource management, base-building aboard a massive mobile structure, and navigating the complex relationships and moral tensions between Jan and his Alters.
It launched in June 2025 and was met with exceptional reviews, with some outlets awarding it perfect scores and calling it 11 bit studios' most personal and ambitious work to date.
Disco Elysium
Developed by ZA/UM, Disco Elysium is one of the most critically celebrated RPGs ever made. The Final Cut edition is the version coming to Game Pass, which includes full voice acting, new quests, and expanded political content beyond the original 2019 release.
Set in the decaying post-revolutionary city of Revachol, players step into the shoes of a disgraced detective with no memory, investigating what begins as a routine murder case and spiraling into something far deeper.
The game ditches traditional combat entirely in favor of a system built around 24 internal skill attributes that manifest as competing voices in the protagonist's head, shaping every conversation and encounter.
It swept The Game Awards 2019, winning Best Narrative, Best RPG, Best Independent Game, and Best Debut Indie. Steam reviews remain "Overwhelmingly Positive" to this day, and critics consistently point to its writing as the gold standard of interactive storytelling.
For anyone who has not played it yet, this addition to Game Pass is a genuine opportunity.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a direct sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon and features a dual-protagonist structure following both Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu.
The story spans Yokohama and Hawaii, weaving together themes of family, redemption, and legacy across a campaign that can run well beyond 50 hours.
The turn-based combat system returns with refinements, allowing players to use the environment itself as a weapon, from traffic signs to anything else within reach. Beyond the main story, the game is loaded with over 100 substories and an enormous variety of minigames ranging from karaoke to management simulators.
Originally released in January 2024, it earned near-universal acclaim according to Metacritic, with scores around 89 to 90. IGN described it as a "sprawling, enthralling" experience, and many consider it the peak of the long-running series.
Absolum
Developed by Guard Crush Games and Supamonks and published by Dotemu, Absolum is a roguelite beat-em-up set in the fantasy world of Talamh.
Players choose from a roster of outcast heroes, including a warrior, an archer, a brute, and a frog wizard, and take on the tyrannical Sun King Azra and his Crimson Order across procedurally influenced levels.
The combat fuses classic side-scrolling beat-em-up mechanics, fluid combos, counters, and special moves, with roguelite progression systems that keep each run feeling distinct. Co-op support.
Dotemu, known for Streets of Rage 4, brought that same level of craft to this project, and reception has been strong since its original launch in October 2025, with critics praising the combat quality and the hand-crafted art style.
Nova Roma
Developed by Lion Shield and published by Hooded Horse, Nova Roma is a Roman-themed city-builder that puts players in charge of leading refugees from a crumbling empire to found an entirely new civilization.
The gameplay emphasizes deep historical simulation, covering everything from managing intricate supply chains and constructing aqueducts to appeasing the gods through temples and enacting societal laws.
It is currently releasing in Early Access on March 26 (also on Steam) with a full release targeted for later in 2026.
The Long Dark
Developed by Hinterland Studio, The Long Dark is a realistic wilderness survival experience set in the frozen wilderness of northern Canada following a geomagnetic disaster.
Players take on the role of a crash-landed pilot named Will Mackenzie in the story-driven Wintermute mode, while the sandbox mode strips everything back to pure, unforgiving survival.
The game demands careful management of warmth, food, injury, and wildlife threats with no hand-holding whatsoever.
Originally released in full back in August 2017, the game has continued to receive updates well into 2026, with additional story content through the Tales from the Far Territory DLC.
It holds a Metacritic score around 80 and remains one of the most respected titles in the survival genre.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Developed and published by Capcom, RE7 was a landmark moment for the Resident Evil franchise when it first launched in January 2017. The game made the bold move of shifting to a first-person perspective, placing players directly in the shoes of Ethan Winters as he searches for his missing wife at a decaying estate in rural Louisiana.
What follows is a tense, claustrophobic horror experience built around the terrifying Baker family, limited resources, puzzle-solving, and carefully managed encounters with enemies that can easily overpower you.
The game earned a Metacritic score above 86 and won multiple Best Horror awards, with critics widely crediting it for revitalizing the franchise after a period of action-heavy entries. It remains a modern classic of survival horror, selling over 16.8 million copies so far.
Barbie Horse Trails
Developed by PHL Collective and published by Outright Games, Barbie Horse Trails revives the beloved Barbie horse game format for modern platforms.
Players take on the role of Barbie, riding her horse Lucky through the open world of Canterbury Trails Park. The gameplay focuses on exploration, customization, light questing, photography, treasure hunting, and building a bond with Lucky.
Originally released in October 2025, the game was received positively by family audiences.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Developed by Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is arguably the most critically acclaimed game in the entire wave.
Set in a Belle Epoque-inspired French fantasy world, the story follows Expedition 33 as it sails to confront the Paintress, a mysterious figure whose annual ritual kills everyone of a certain age.
The combat system blends traditional turn-based strategy with real-time action elements in a way that feels genuinely fresh.
At The Game Awards 2025, it won Game of the Year along with eight other awards, breaking the all-time record for the show. Its Metacritic score sits above 92.
The version coming to Game Pass includes the post-launch Verso's Drafts update, which added new challenges and fan-requested features.
Final Fantasy IV
Originally released by Square back in 1991, Final Fantasy IV is one of the most foundational JRPGs ever made. The story follows Cecil, a dark knight grappling with loyalty and redemption, as he joins forces with companions including Kain the dragoon, Rosa the white mage, and Rydia the summoner to battle the villainous Golbez.
It introduced the Active Time Battle system to the Final Fantasy series, a mechanic that defined the franchise for years afterward.
Multiple remasters and re-releases have kept the game accessible over the decades.
Games Leaving March 31
Two titles are departing the Game Pass library at the end of the month. Peppa Pig World Adventures and Mad Streets are both leaving on March 31 across Cloud, Console, and PC.
Subscribers who want to hold onto either game can purchase them at a 20% discount before they are removed.
