Xbox Game Pass has revealed its second wave of games for May 2026, with a solid mix of new releases, beloved classics, and some notable departures.
This wave runs from May 20 through to early June, adding 13 more titles to a month that already includes Forza Horizon 6 and Subnautica 2 from Wave 1.
On the broader Game Pass front, last month Microsoft cut the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 to $22.99 per month, and PC Game Pass from $16.49 to $13.99 per month. Those changes were among the first major calls made by new Xbox boss Asha Sharma, who stepped into the role after Phil Spencer's departure. Microsoft has also confirmed that new Call of Duty titles will no longer be day-one Game Pass additions going forward, with new entries arriving on the service a year after launch instead.
More recently, Discord Nitro became the entry point for a new Game Pass Starter Edition, available on the $9.99 per month Nitro plan. It gives subscribers access to over 50 PC and console games, integrates directly with Discord's Now Playing system, and includes exclusive discounts on peripherals from brands like Logitech G and SteelSeries. That said, cloud streaming is capped at 10 hours per month and console multiplayer is not included, making it a lighter option aimed at casual or newer players.
There are also reports that Microsoft is exploring a Game Pass expansion into China under an internal codename called Project Saluki. References to it were first spotted in Xbox Insider builds, describing it as a China market expansion for Game Pass, Rewards, and subscription tiers. Microsoft has not officially announced anything, but if Project Saluki becomes a full product, it would likely feature a localized tier tailored to regional content preferences and regulations.
Here is everything coming and leaving in Wave 2.

Key Highlights
Dead Static Drive is an open-world survival horror game from Reuben Games, set during a Lovecraftian road trip through an 80s Americana desert. You drive across a desolate landscape, scavenge for fuel and supplies, repair vehicles, fight off monsters and maniacs, and search for your missing family amid a world overrun by cosmic horrors. It launched in late 2025 to a divided reception. Some critics praised its atmosphere, art direction, and premise with scores of 7 to 8.5 out of 10, while others pointed to floaty driving, bugs, and an incomplete feel. Steam reviews skew mostly negative at around 38% positive, which makes this a cautious recommendation despite its interesting concept.
My Friend Peppa Pig is a gentle 2D sandbox adventure developed by Petoons Studio and published by Outright Games. Originally released in 2021, it lets young children explore Peppa Pig's world, complete simple activities, and play mini-games in a faithful adaptation of the show. There are no failure states, making it extremely accessible for its target audience of preschool-age kids. Steam reviews sit at around 87% positive, and it has been praised for its charm and faithfulness to the source material.
Pigeon Simulator is exactly the kind of game the title suggests, and somehow that works. You and up to three friends play as government-agent pigeons, flying around a city, pooping on threats, using grappling hooks and gadgets, and completing absurd missions involving haunted objects and urban chaos. It launched in late 2025 and has received mixed to positive early impressions, scoring around 6 to 7.5 out of 10. Critics agree it is best experienced with friends, with the silly physics and co-op chaos being the main draw. Solo play is considerably less fun.
Remnant 2 is arguably the strongest addition in this wave. Developed by Gunfire Games and published by Gearbox Publishing, it is a co-op soulslike third-person shooter that sends players across procedurally generated alternate realities to fight increasingly wild bosses. Deep build crafting, a variety of archetypes, and strong replayability make it one of the best games in its genre. It launched in 2023 to a Metacritic score above 80 and overwhelmingly positive Steam reviews.
Winter Burrow is a cozy woodland survival game from Pine Creek Games, published by Noodlecake Studios. You play as a mouse returning to restore a childhood burrow, gathering resources, crafting, knitting, managing warmth and hunger, and exploring snowy environments. The survival mechanics are intentionally light, keeping things relaxed rather than stressful. It launched in late 2025 and earned around 91% positive reviews on Steam. Critics praised its charming visuals and music, though some noted the survival loop can feel a little basic over time.
Luna Abyss is a narrative-driven first-person action adventure from Kwalee Labs, arriving on May 21 as a day-one Game Pass release. You explore a vast alien megastructure, navigating fluid platforming sections and bullet-hell style combat encounters tied together by a story rooted in cosmic horror. Demos and previews have been positive across the board, with the movement, combat feel, and atmosphere all receiving strong praise.
Escape Simulator is a first-person puzzle game from Pine Studio built around escape rooms. You solve intricate puzzles solo or with up to 10 players online, and a built-in room editor lets the community create and share their own challenges. Originally released in 2021, it has built a strong and loyal following over the years and remains a go-to for puzzle fans looking for co-op options.
Echo Generation 2 is the follow-up to Cococucumber's retro-styled RPG, arriving on May 27 as a day-one Game Pass title. It is a turn-based sci-fi deckbuilding RPG where you gather a crew, build decks, and battle cosmic threats in a story about a father trying to find his way home. A demo has been available ahead of launch.
The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition is the enhanced version of Obsidian Entertainment's well-regarded sci-fi RPG, developed alongside Virtuos and published by Private Division. Originally released in 2019, the base game offers choice-driven storytelling, companion characters, and first-person combat set in a corporate-run galaxy. The Spacer's Choice Edition bundles in both DLC packs, raises the level cap, and adds visual improvements.
Crashout Crew is a chaotic co-op forklift game from Aggro Crab, the studio known for its offbeat humor and physics-heavy design. Up to four players tear through a warehouse delivering items under pressure, drifting, crashing, and managing stress in what promises to be a gloriously silly multiplayer experience. It arrives on May 28 as a day-one Game Pass title.
Kabuto Park is a short, sweet beetle-collecting game from Doot. You play as Hana spending her summer vacation catching, training, and battling beetles in a relaxed and charming collector experience. It is small in scope by design, but praised for its wholesome tone and accessibility.
Final Fantasy VI arrives on June 2, continuing Game Pass's recent run of classic Square Enix JRPGs following Final Fantasy V in Wave 1. Originally released in 1994 and later reissued through the well-received Pixel Remaster in 2022 and 2023, Final Fantasy VI is widely regarded as one of the greatest entries in the series. It features a large cast of memorable characters, a sweeping story about rebellion against an empire, and a deep magic and customization system built around Espers. If you have never played it, this is a rare treat.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 is the latest entry in Frontier Developments' dinosaur park management series, released in late 2025. You build and manage your own Jurassic World, breed new species, design park layouts, and handle operations and security across campaign, sandbox, and challenge modes. It launched to very positive reception with around 93% positive reviews on Steam, and is considered a strong step forward for the series with better customization and a wider dinosaur roster.
Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass
These titles are leaving the service soon, so make sure you finish them before they go:
Against the Storm (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Crypt Custodian (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Metaphor: ReFantazio (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Spray Paint Simulator (Cloud, Console, and PC)
The two biggest losses here are Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 4 Golden, both from Atlus. Metaphor launched in 2024 to near-universal acclaim, with a Metacritic score in the high 90s, and is considered one of the studio's finest works. Persona 4 Golden is a long-standing fan favorite with a score above 93 on Metacritic and a reputation as one of the best JRPGs ever made. If either of these is sitting unfinished in your library, now is the time to prioritize them.
