Key Highlights
Three games are available to claim right now. The standout of the bunch is Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga. Developed by Dancing Dragon Games, this turn-based strategy RPG launched in June 2022 and draws clear inspiration from classics like Ogre Battle. You recruit heroes, build armies, manage unit bonds and morale, and fight across a story campaign that runs between 30 and 40 hours. It holds an impressive 94% positive rating on Steam and has been widely praised for its tactical depth, army customization, and overall value. If you enjoy strategy RPGs, this one is not to be missed.
Also available now is LoneStar, a strategic roguelike spaceship deckbuilder from developer Math Tide. You play as a bounty hunter navigating the universe through card-based combat, ship customization, and resource management. It holds a Very Positive rating on Steam at around 90% and has been singled out as a strong entry in the roguelike deckbuilder subgenre.
Alongside it is CyClones, a retro first-person shooter originally developed by Raven Software and published by SSI back in November 1994. It was notably ahead of its time for its mouse-aiming system and is now available through SNEG's modern re-release. A solid pick for retro FPS enthusiasts.
The July 9 drop brings two very different experiences. Still There, developed by GhostShark Games, is a psychological point-and-click adventure set aboard a remote space lighthouse. You play as a keeper wrestling with grief, solving technical puzzles, and building an unlikely bond with a quirky AI companion. It landed in the high 80s in terms of critical reception and has been praised for its emotional depth, atmospheric writing, and clever puzzle design.
Regular Factory: Escape Room is another entry from mc2games, the studio behind several of this year's Prime Gaming escape room offerings. This one drops you into a secret factory where you decode clues, find hidden objects, and unravel a conspiracy. It holds a Very Positive Steam rating at around 91%, making it one of the stronger titles in the developer's puzzle series.
July 16 is the busiest week of the month with three games dropping at once. Escape Academy, developed by Coin Crew Games, is a co-op escape room puzzler set within an academy dedicated to the art of escaping. It features a full story campaign with time-pressured puzzles and a strong multiplayer focus, earning a Very Positive reception.
Framed Collection, published by Fellow Traveller, bundles together the two noir puzzle games Framed and Framed 2. The gameplay revolves around rearranging comic book panels to guide a character through danger, a genuinely unique mechanic that earned the series a generally favorable reception sitting around 79 on Metacritic.
Poly Vita rounds out the week as a relaxing isometric puzzle game where you place tiles to guide a character through dreamlike worlds. It draws easy comparisons to Monument Valley and has been praised for its calm, clean design.
July 23 delivers the month's horror highlight. In Sound Mind, developed by We Create Stuff, is a psychological horror first-person shooter with therapy-themed levels, mind-bending sequences, and some inventive puzzle mechanics woven throughout. It received positive reviews for its atmosphere and creative ideas.
Joining it is Mystic Academy: Escape Room, another mc2games puzzle title, this time set in a wizard school where you solve spells and pass a magical final exam. It holds a Mostly Positive rating on Steam.
The month closes out on July 30 with two more titles. Zoria: Age of Shattering, developed by Tiny Trinket Games, is a squad-based tactical RPG set in a rich fantasy world. You lead a team of four heroes with unique skills through fluid turn-based combat while managing an outpost and follower system between missions.
Weakless, developed by Punk Notion, is a puzzle-adventure game built around two wooden creatures, one deaf and one blind, whose combined abilities are needed to navigate beautifully crafted bioluminescent environments. It is a visually striking and thoughtful experience that rounds out a well-varied month.
