Ubisoft has officially scheduled a worldwide reveal showcase for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on April 23, streaming live on YouTube and Twitch.
The game has been one of gaming's worst-kept secrets for years, with leaks piling up so fast that Ubisoft eventually had no choice but to embrace it. In fact, the publisher leaned into the humor of the situation with its Bluesky announcement, writing, "We know you know, but how about we tell you some more now?"
Back in August 2025, Ubisoft actually threatened legal action against voice actor Matt Ryan after he reportedly let slip details about the project. The publisher's stance softened considerably over time as leaks continued to pour in. By January of this year, Ubisoft was actually posting memes in response to new leaks. The official confirmation finally came in March, when the game was formally announced as "Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced," dropping the working "4" from earlier rumors.
So what do we actually know about the game so far? Not a whole lot, if we are being honest. Ubisoft has only released some promotional art showing protagonist Edward Kenway relaxing on a boat. The April 23 showcase is expected to drop a proper trailer that should answer most of the burning questions fans have been sitting on.
Among the most talked-about rumors is that this is a full top-to-bottom remake, not just a simple port or remaster. That would make a lot of sense given how beloved the original Black Flag remains. Another heavily circulated rumor suggests that the new version will remove all modern-day gameplay segments entirely, keeping the focus squarely on pirate-themed action. Whether that turns out to be true remains to be seen.
The original Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has reached over 34 million players since its release, which goes a long way in explaining why Ubisoft chose to revisit it.
Here is a full breakdown of the showcase timing across regions:
Los Angeles (PDT): 9:00 AM, April 23
Mexico City (CST): 11:00 AM, April 23
New York (ET): 12:00 PM, April 23

There is also a chance the showcase could shed some light on the next mainline entry in the franchise. Ubisoft is currently developing a project under the codename Codename Hexe. The company has described it as a "unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin's Creed experience," though details beyond that remain tightly under wraps.
The showcase streams on April 23 at Ubisoft's official YouTube channel and at twitch.tv/ubisoft.
There are also Twitch Drops rewards: watching 20 minutes of the showcase can earn you the Rufino Pistol. Once Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced releases (reportedly on July 9), the weapon will be waiting for you in the full game.
