Bandai Namco Holdings has reported solid financial results for the first quarter of its fiscal year ending March 2026.
From April 1 to June 30, 2025, the company generated 300.43 billion yen (approximately $2 billion USD) in total sales, with 51.92 billion yen ($352 million USD) in operating profit and 38.33 billion yen ($260 million USD) in net profit.
All major profit metrics saw double-digit growth compared to the same quarter last year.
Digital Business division, which handles Bandai Namco’s video game development and publishing, was the major contributer. The division recorded sales of around $732 million USD and a segment profit of about $147 million USD, reflecting growing momentum in its game portfolio.
A major contributor to this digital success was Elden Ring: Nightreign. The highly anticipated expansion launched to immediate commercial success, shipping over 2 million units on its first day, with total sales surpassing 5 million by July 24, according to Kadokawa. Its global appeal and critical reception helped push the division’s profits significantly higher.
Other notable releases included Tamagotchi Puchi Puchi Omisecchi: Omachidosama!, a Japan-exclusive companion game tied to the popular Tamagotchi Uni toy line. Meanwhile, the mobile title SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL also saw an uptick in fan engagement and spending.
Beyond the quarterly numbers, Bandai Namco outlined its strategic direction moving forward. The company emphasized the importance of creating a “balanced and optimal title portfolio” and confirmed ongoing development of a new in-house game engine. Investments in startup partnerships also remain a priority.
