Bethesda Game Studios may have just dropped the first real hint about Starfield’s second major expansion.
In a celebratory social media post marking two years since launch, the studio shared a “happy anniversary” message overlaid with a glitching text that read “Terran Armada.”
While Bethesda has teased future content before, this is the first time we’ve seen something solid. Before release, the studio promised one major expansion per year, but so far, only Shattered Space has been officially released.
The phrase “Terran Armada” is loaded with different possibilities. In sci-fi, “Terran” typically refers to Earth, while “armada” suggests a massive fleet of ships. Within Starfield’s lore, Earth became uninhabitable sometime after 2200 when the atmosphere collapsed — a disaster caused by humanity’s own faster‑than‑light technology. This forced a mass exodus into space, with fleets carrying the remnants of the human race to new worlds.
If the name is more than just a tease, Terran Armada could explore that pivotal moment in history — perhaps even as a prequel expansion showing humanity’s desperate flight from its dying homeworld.
Bethesda hasn’t confirmed anything beyond that, so we’ll have to wait and see what "Terran Armada" actually means. Until then, the comment box is open for your wildest theories to take flight.
