BGMI Transfer Window Is Back Open From April 1, 2026

The BGMI transfer window has officially reopened on April 1, 2026, giving teams across the competitive ecosystem a chance to rework their rosters ahead of the next major tournament run.

What Is the BGMI Transfer Window?

The transfer window is a fixed, time-limited period during which registered esports clubs can sign, release, or trade players within the BGMI competitive ecosystem.

KRAFTON India launched this system in October 2025, taking clear inspiration from how traditional sports leagues like football and basketball handle player movement.

Before this existed, roster changes happened randomly and without any notice. Teams would drop or replace players mid-season, which disrupted team chemistry, confused fans, and made scheduling a mess. The transfer window cleans all of that up by setting a defined period for all roster activity, followed by a strict lock that prevents any further movement.

How the Transfer Process Works

According to KRAFTON India, all transfers are handled through the official Krafton India Esports (KIE) Dashboard. Only verified clubs with a registered Owner or In-Game Leader (IGL) can initiate or approve any transfer request.

The process itself is straightforward. Both teams negotiate terms, submit the agreed change on the dashboard, and KRAFTON India then verifies the request before confirming it.

Free agents, meaning players without an active club contract, can join any team at any time. The window restriction only applies to contracted players moving between rival clubs.

Roster Rules at a Glance

As per the official guidelines, each BGMI team can register the following:

  • Four main players

  • One substitute player

  • One owner

  • One coach

  • One manager

Only the five registered players are eligible to compete in official tournaments. Any changes to the main roster must go through the proper transfer process and receive KRAFTON India approval before they count.

Teams found violating transfer regulations are barred from participating in third-party tournaments. The KIE Dashboard logs every transaction to maintain full transparency across the board.

What Happens After the Window Closes?

Once this window shuts, all rosters lock for the next six months. No signings, no releases, no swaps, except for free agents joining clubs without contracts. This lock period will cover major upcoming events, including BMPS 2026 and the Skyesports Championship.

Teams that field unregistered players during the lock period risk disqualification. KRAFTON India monitors all lineup submissions before each tournament to keep things clean.
