Capcom has had a strong start to 2026, with its Steam portfolio generating roughly $389 million in gross revenue so far this year, according to estimates by analytics firm Alinea Analytics.
After Steam's tiered revenue cuts, the Japanese publisher has pocketed a net of $309 million. That cut factors in Steam's standard breakdown: 30% on a game's first $10 million in lifetime revenue, 25% on earnings between $10 million and $50 million, and 20% on everything beyond that. Regional pricing and discounting were also accounted for in those figures.
Resident Evil Requiem Carries the Load
Resident Evil Requiem is doing the heavy lifting right now. The latest entry in the iconic survival horror series accounts for 45% of Capcom's total Steam revenue in 2026, coming in at around $174 million. As of April 20, it has crossed the 3 million copies sold mark on Steam alone, and is tracking toward 7 million copies sold across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox combined.
To put that into perspective, Requiem has already surpassed the lifetime Steam revenue of the Resident Evil 4 Remake from 2023. It is currently on pace to overtake the Resident Evil 2 Remake on Steam by the end of this month.
Legacy games are still bringing in cash, with 29% ($113 million) of Capcom’s 2026 Steam revenue coming from older Resident Evil titles released over a year ago.
Pragmata: A New IP That Actually Landed
Perhaps the most interesting story in Capcom's 2026 run so far is Pragmata. Launched on April 17 at a $60 price point, it is a brand-new IP with no pre-existing fanbase to rely on. And yet, Capcom confirmed it sold 1 million units within two days of launch.
Per Alinea Analytics estimates, Pragmata has moved 574K copies on Steam, translating to nearly $30 million in gross revenue. On PlayStation 5, the title is approaching 300K copies, while Xbox sits under 100K. Steam is currently outperforming both consoles combined.
Most of Pragmata's early buyers are already invested Capcom fans. On PlayStation, 58.4% of Pragmata players also played Resident Evil Requiem. On Steam, that figure sits at 42.9%. Around 42% of Steam players also have significant time logged in Monster Hunter Wilds.
What Next
Coming up for Capcom is Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a revival of the long-dormant samurai action series. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, the publisher says it’s set to launch sometime this year.
Judging by the strong momentum in the first half of 2026, Capcom seems well-positioned for the rest of the year.
