Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 isn’t finished just yet. Developer Sandfall Interactive has confirmed that even after the game’s successful launch and strong sales, there’s more content and several updates still on the way.
Following its impressive reception and millions of copies sold, Sandfall took to social media yesterday to reassure fans that the journey isn’t over. In a post on Twitter (now X), the team shared that a “wide range of future improvements” is in the works, including new content, accessibility features, and expanded localization options.
“We’re currently exploring a wide range of future improvements — from accessibility features to new content and all sorts of bits and bobs we’re actively assessing,” the developer stated. “Naturally, this also includes expanded localisation options. While we don’t have specific timelines or confirmed languages to share just yet, we wanted to let you know that it’s very much on our radar.”
Though the studio hasn’t revealed specific details about what the upcoming content will include, fans are already speculating. Based on the current structure of the game, additional difficulty modes, optional bosses, and even platforming segments could be reasonable additions. There’s also hope for more cosmetic customization like new costumes, which would give players even more reasons to return to the beautifully stylized world of Expedition 33.
Despite being a relatively short and mid-priced RPG, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has earned praise for its rich storytelling, polished combat mechanics, and distinctive art direction. Most players consider the game’s current content fulfilling, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a bit more adventure. With Sandfall Interactive already working on its next title—another mid-sized project—the continued support for Expedition 33 comes as a welcome surprise.
