Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has had a remarkable year, selling over 5 million copies, topping Metacritic charts, and even earning praise from the French president for elevating the country’s gaming industry. For many, it’s already the frontrunner for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, and now it has the silverware to prove it.
The RPG claimed its first major GOTY award at the Thailand Game Awards 2025, held during the newly merged Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show in Bangkok from October 16–19. This was the first time Gamescom Asia, previously hosted in Singapore, officially joined forces with Thailand’s biggest gaming expo. According to reports, the event drew a record 206,159 attendees, a 10% increase compared to last year’s Thailand Game Show.

A Clean Sweep for Expedition 33
At the awards ceremony on Day 4, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominated the competition, beating out heavyweights like Death Stranding 2 and Elden Ring: Nightreign to secure Game of the Year. The RPG didn’t stop there; it also won Best RPG Game, Best PC/Console Game, and the Popular Vote, showing just how strongly it resonated with both critics and players.
