Prepare to truly die—with friends this time! Thanks to a brand-new mod, Dark Souls Remastered players can now experience the entire game in seamless co-op, with no more frustrating disconnections or boss battle limits cutting things short.
Modder LukeYui, a familiar name in the FromSoftware modding scene, has launched the Seamless Co-op Mod on Nexus Mods, completely transforming the way you can explore the doomed world of Lordran.
What’s New with Seamless Co-op?
Traditionally, multiplayer in Dark Souls was, well, a bit of a mess—limited by fog walls, boss gatekeepers, and automatic disconnections. But this mod flips the script.
With the Seamless Co-op Mod, up to six players can team up and go from the tutorial all the way to the final boss in one uninterrupted session. No more “returning to your world” after every victory. Now, death doesn’t even kick you out—a fallen player simply respawns at their last bonfire while the team continues the mission.
In short: true co-op, Souls-style.
What Else Does It Change?
It’s not just about keeping your squad together. The mod delivers a bunch of multiplayer-friendly upgrades:
Fog walls? Gone. No more invisible barriers limiting exploration.
Bonfire sync. When one player rests, the world resets for everyone.
Synchronized NPCs. Dialogue and quest events are mirrored across all players' games.
Reconnect anytime. Players can drop in and rejoin from anywhere, even after disconnects.
Global light sources. A torch lit by one player lights the way for everyone. Brilliant—literally.
Balancing the Difficulty
Let’s face it, running around with a six-person crew could make Lordran feel more like a casual Sunday hike. To keep things brutal, the mod includes enemy scaling that ramps up the difficulty based on player count. You can tweak this via the mod’s settings file to hit that sweet spot between “fun” and “utter despair.”
PvP fans aren’t left out either—optional invasions are in. Turn it on, and other players can invade your group session, preventing bonfire use or warping until they’re dealt with.
How to Install It
Getting started is easy:
Download the mod from Nexus Mods or its GitHub mirror.
Extract the files and Move them into your Dark Souls Remastered directory.
Edit "ds1sc_settings.ini" to your chosen co-op password.
Launch the game using the included mod launcher.
Note: The mod is currently in alpha, so you may encounter bugs. LukeYui is actively working on updates, so keep an eye on patches if something gets glitchy.
