Bandai Namco has officially confirmed that Elden Ring: Nightreign will receive a brand-new mode called Deep of Night, set to release on September 11, 2025.

Designed specifically for veteran players, this addition introduces a high-difficulty expedition experience that goes beyond the usual boss encounters.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, the spin-off to the massively successful Elden Ring, launched earlier in May 2025 and has since built a strong following thanks to its co-op systems, weekly boss fights, and evolving endgame features. Now, Deep of Night aims to push the boundaries even further, offering a challenge that demands patience, skill, and resilience.

The new mode was initially discovered by dataminers, who spotted files hinting at a layered, descent-based challenge. Those early findings have now been proven correct. According to Bandai Namco’s official announcement, Deep of Night is all about progression through increasingly dangerous depths. Players will battle stronger enemies with no advance knowledge of which Nightlord they’ll face, and terrain changes won’t be predictable either. In other words, careful planning won’t save you — adaptability will.

To balance the difficulty, the mode introduces exclusive rewards. Special Depths Relics and new weapon types will appear, each offering multiple enhancements but also unique drawbacks. The deeper you descend, the tougher the enemies become, and your ranking will fluctuate based on wins and losses. This system ensures that every run feels dynamic and carries real consequences.

Reports from earlier datamines also suggested that Deep of Night may come with skill-based matchmaking and additional relic slots exclusive to the mode, though these details have not yet been confirmed officially.
