With Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth already out, the final chapter of Square Enix's remake trilogy is beginning to take shape. Producer Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that the team knows exactly when the game will be announced, but they're not ready to share that date just yet.

Speaking during a recent Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis livestream (translated by Genki JPN on X/Twitter), Nomura said: “It is going very smoothly. The announcement timing has been decided, and we will stick to that schedule, so please rest assured and wait.”

Earlier this year, producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed the story scenario was completed by the end of 2024, with game director Naoki Hamaguchi adding that development began immediately after Rebirth.

A notable change could be a multiplatform launch. With Square Enix shifting toward simultaneous releases, Part 3 may arrive on PC and Xbox Series X|S alongside PlayStation, ending the timed exclusivity of its predecessors. For now, fans know the reveal is coming — they just don’t know when.

He also noted that Kingdom Hearts 4 is “progressing well and according to schedule,” though no new details were given.
