Fortnite has temporarily removed the Precision Air Strike item from its Battle Royale mode.
The Legendary consumable only landed on August 26 as part of the ongoing Chapter 6 Season 4 update, but it’s already been pulled from Battle Royale after issues popped up.
The item let players call in a devastating air strike — and it quickly became a fan favorite for turning fights on their head. But that kind of power cuts both ways, and Epic clearly spotted something serious enough to sideline it.
The official word came from Fortnite Status on Twitter: "While we work to resolve an issue, we’re temporarily disabling Precision Air Strike in Battle Royale."
No return date yet, though they promise updates once it’s good to go. Players, of course, are already asking for an ETA… and getting radio silence for now.
Interestingly, some clips shared by players online highlighted just how powerful the item had become, with videos showing squads being wiped out instantly by a single call. This has led to speculation that balancing might be part of the reason behind the removal.
On the other hand, reports have also hinted at a possible glitch where users could exploit the item for unlimited uses, something that would have severely affected gameplay fairness.
For now, the Precision Air Strike is grounded. When it comes back, expect tweaks — and maybe a little less chaos when it drops.
